Why does my Facebook look like this all of a sudden, and what do I need to delete or update to fix it?

2
So yeah, I really like playing DC Universe online, but there are certain combos that can only be achieved by pressing your right and left mouse buttons in elaborate sequences which have zero margin for error. The slightest deviation in the formula leads to me shooting impotently at the wall while Swamp Thing turns me into his swamp prison bride. Aside from that, it's also REALLY hard on the mouse buttons. What I'd like is to find some kind of program I could run in the background while I'm playing so that instead of "left click, right-click, hold right-click four times, hold left click, left click" I could just press "K" and have it execute that sequence of mouse clicks flawlessly every time. Does anybody know of a program that would let me do that?

Unwashed Village / Fix my printer!
« on: April 19, 2013, 03:51:28 AM »
I have a Lexmark x2600 all-in-one printer (printer/scanner).  It's worked perfectly fine for the last couple years I've had it.  I had to replace the cartridges in it ONCE since I've owned it, and I went with Sophia Global knockoff cartridges, which worked fine.  It's now time to replace the cartridges, only THIS time, I'm using brand name cartridges.  The printer is telling me that these cartridges are incompatible with the printer.  When I put the empty cartridges back in the printer, it recognizes them just fine, but since they are empty, they aren't much use to me.  I can only assume that the knockoff cartridges had some kind of malware coded into them to rewrite the printer's firmware to only accept their brand of cartridges.  I've tried new brand name cartridges from a few different sources and I've gotten the same results, so it's not likely that I bought bad cartridges.  Any idea how to fix the problem?

Unwashed Village / A bisexual girl bit my ear last night.
« on: December 17, 2012, 06:51:58 AM »
OK, so I have a bisexual, platonic lady friend of many years who has never expressed any interest in me, and in fact has shot me down in the past.  Last night, I hung out with her and her girlfriend watching movies.  The girlfriend who was staying the night had already gone to bed, and I was saying my goodbyes to platonic lady friend. who hugged me and kissed me on the cheek like she's done many times before.  Then she bit/sucked my earlobe.  Now, if she was single and hadn't shot me down in the past, I'd know what this means.  If her girlfriend was also bisexual, and not an out-and-out lesbian, I'd know what this means, (not my kind of thing, BTW).  Since neither of those things are the case, I don't know what this means.  Does it mean anything?  Does it just mean she'd had too much to drink?

Okay, so there was a line of comics that started around 2001 or 2002, and I don't know if they're still going on or who the publisher was.  I want to say either Wildstorm or Image, someone who was in bed with Wizard at the time, that much I remember.  Anyway, the basic plot is that there's this ancient Sumerian gateway into Hell that gets found out in the Middle East somewhere, and the Powers That Be decide they want to investigate it, because that's always a good idea, but when they send in teams of spec ops people, they die instantly; literally the process of going through the gateway divaricates them all into piles of viscera.  The Powers That Be figure out that the only people who can go through the gateway without getting turned into slurry are the sorts of people who are slated to go there when they die ANYWAY.  So they start getting a team of hardened criminals and kitting them out in army gear and sending them through the gateway to see what's up on the other side, all in exchange for pardons.  The main character runs into his mother down there at one point, and at another point it rains spears from the sky like in 300, but that's all I can remember.  Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Unwashed Village / So my high school reunion is tonight... Should I go?
« on: August 27, 2011, 08:33:59 PM »
First, a little back story.  I really hated high school.  It wasn't so much that I hated the people, though I did hate a lot of them; it's that I hated the entity of high school as a whole.  Even the stuff that most people enjoyed like pep rallies, sporting events (both as a audience AND team member) proms and graduation, (which I begged my parents to be allowed to skip), were at best boring wastes of time that I was often times forced to be a part of by the Powers That Be with little more explanation beyond "My absence would be noticed." (Which was kind of the point.) or "You have an obligation to participate in these events." (Who this obligation was to I don't know for sure, so I'm forced to assume it was Cthulhu.)  Basically, it was four years of seething contempt for a bunch of people and activities I perceived as shallow, stupid and an insult to my intelligence.  I didn't begrudge anyone their right to the high school experience, but I did resent being forced to be a part of it rather than having my wishes respected.

So, that back story in place, my high school reunion is tonight.  People keep calling me about it, saying I should go.  Now, if I had dropped a ton of weight and gotten filthy rich in the last ten years, basically like Conan the Barbarian, but with money, then I'd absolutely go just so I could be a smug raging cock end to the people I didn't like.  It would be petty beyond description, but it would be satisfying, and it's not like I'd see any of these people again.

Unfortunately, I'm still fat and not wealthy.  My big concern is being shown up by people I don't like and other awkward situations like that.  Also, I'm afraid if I don't go that I might regret it later.  I just don't want to willingly go subject myself to high school again in my late twenties, even for a couple of hours.  So I have to know, because I know some of you here have already had a reunion come and go.  Should I attend?

Hey guys,
I have 1TB and 3TB My Book Essential USB External Hard Drives connected to my computer.  I am running 64-bit Windows 7.  I recently unplugged both of these drives to transfer data to another computer and have since returned them to my computer, however I MAY have plugged each one into a different USB port than the one they were originally plugged into, if that makes a difference.  Now, whenever I start up Windows, an Autoplay window opens up for each of these drives which didn't happen before and it's really annoying.  I've looked around online and it looks like this is a pretty common issue but nobody recommends anything useful beyond shutting off autoplay all together or somewhat sketchy tweaks to the registry which I don't like doing if I can avoid it.  Does anyone know how I can shut off autoplay for just these two devices?  Is it something that it will eventually "learn" to stop doing if I keep closing those autoplay windows without selecting an action?

Unwashed Village / My printer won't print red or yellow.
« on: January 11, 2011, 12:51:06 AM »
Hey everyone,
I have an HP Deskjet 3650 printer.  I recently tried to use a refilled tricolor ink cartridge but it wouldn't print any red or yellow.  I replaced it with a new tri-color ink cartridge.  Same problem.  When I try to print photos, they look like they START printing okay, IE the top part of the photo looks normal, but then it takes on a greenish hue and it's obvious that something is amiss.  Test page only prints black text and blue squares.  Anyone know what's up.

Currently running Windows 7, 64-bit.

Unwashed Village / Ugh! One of us is socially maladjusted!
« on: June 08, 2010, 02:16:36 AM »
Okay, so I'm working for the Census Bureau right now, and I didn't know any of the people I work with before six weeks ago.  I don't dislike any of them or anything, but I don't consider any of them my friends either.  I'm pretty indifferent.  One of them asked me to help him move a vanity from his house to another house which will take about two hours.  He offered no compensation.  Here lies the problem.  I HATE moving.  If I'm available and a friend or family member asks, then I do it anyway because there's a certain social obligation to help friends and family in exchange for the fellowship you enjoy with them and also because I care about them and their well being.  Usually some form of compensation is offered in these cases, but not always, and I don't ask about it in those cases for the reasons mentioned above.

In this guy's case, I am able to help him, but I am not necessarily willing, and I certainly don't feel I have any social obligation to help him because he is neither friend nor family, is basically a stranger, and is asking for a significant amount of time and labor from me for which he has offered no compensation.  However, it's a bit of a lose/lose situation because if I help him, I am resentful he asked me, and if I don't help him, I feel guilty because I was able to help but didn't and I either have to tell him a lie, or I have to tell him the truth which would doubtless cause problems in the workplace.

Am I being an asshole here and failing to conform to the social contract, or is he the asshole for doing this?  Or is it a little from column A to column B?

I'm just going to start carrying a copy of Atlas Shrugged around in plain sight so people quit involving me in these situations altogether.

Unwashed Village / RIP Frank Frazetta (OUCH!)
« on: May 16, 2010, 01:22:47 PM »
SciFi just lost another heavyweight. I don't think I've had one hurt this bad since Forrest J. Ackerman died.  Conan the Barbarian, John Carter of Mars and countless other pulp science fiction novels and comics wouldn't have been the same without his talents on the covers. He was one of those artists whose work really "took you there" and enhanced the story within each book. You don't see work with his stuff's richness anymore.

Unwashed Village / So, I just watched S. Darko
« on: May 12, 2010, 07:11:56 AM »
Okay, I know that most of the fans of the Donnie Darko hated S. Darko, but I liked it. I'm just unclear about a few things (What a shocker, I'm confused by a Donnie Darko movie.)

Is Frank the Bunny real in the movie's world? I don't mean is the guy named Frank who wears the bunny costume in the first movie real, I mean the entity of Frank the Bunny, the ominous otherworldly Frank, does he exist as a separate and distinct entity independent from Donnie's psychoses and of the main and tangent universes?

The reason I ask is that in S. Darko, there's a few scenes where a dead version of Samantha appears, talking in Frank's voice and a couple of times where lightning strikes and illuminates Samantha and in that split second, Frank appears in her place. I'm unclear whether or not the movie was saying that this character was playing the same role as Frank did in the first movie or if this character IS Frank. If it IS Frank, then that means he's real because both Donnie and the tangent universe from the first film are gone and Frank is still around independent of both of them.

So yeah, I guess "what IS Frank exactly?" is the main bulletpoint of the above.

And please, no snarky answers about him being a giant bunny rabbit or anything like that. You know what I mean.

Unwashed Village / Can I fix my USB Drive?
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:00:31 AM »
I have a 16gb Sandisk Cruzer Micro that I think is shot dead.
I left it in the computer when I reformatted my C: Drive and reinstalled Windows XP. I may have deleted its partition by mistake, but I don't know for sure.

Now, when I plug it in, Windows detects it, and tells me the proper capacity for it, but it also says it's unformatted. When I try to format it, (in FAT32), it ALMOST completes formatting before I get an error message telling me it didn't complete successfuly. Does anyone know how or if this is fixable?
