In the last few days, I've seen or read about three different events that seem mildly tied together:
1. There's an infamous small town in Oregon called Boring which recently made an "unofficially official" partnership with Dull, Scotland.
Yeah.
Pretty awesome, I think.
One of quite a few recent articles on the subject.2. In today's local paper, another small town (Toledo, Oregon) had to cancel their "Day of Caring" because there was not enough interest. *cough*
3. And while I was in Portland a few days ago, I pulled off the freeway and along the exit ramp was one of the ubiquitous homeless people holding a rather interesting sign. (I am so disappointed that I didn't have my camera ready!). Anyway, the sign said:
"Lost Faith in Humanity". Oh, the irony...
