The Village, Your Family
« on: March 13, 2009, 02:58:38 PM »
i had a random thought falling asleep last night. who would each of the villagers be if they were applied ot members of your family. ie: bc is your old crotchety uncle who just stares at you and makes those comments while brug is the uncle/older cousin who really thinks that you need to rethink your way of life to include our lord and savior and never fails to mention it when you're in his presence for more than two minutes (if my family knew my true religious beliefs, i would have at least three of them on me about this. and one of them died ten years ago)

i'm still trying to work through my list. who would be on your's?
In case of rapture, can I have your car?

 :worried:

Hehe, that's totally not me and I'm not exactly sure where you could have come to the conclusion that I'm like that. I don't recall doing any proselytizing here.

you are about a million times more religious than i am.

those are the first two examples (easiest) that i could come up with. my list will end up mostly drastically different when i have a chance to solidify it.

I think what worries me these days is that instead of likening someone to the crotchety uncle who just stares and makes those comments, I think I may be becoming the crotchety uncle who just stares and makes those comments...

I'm the socially inept cousin that doesnt like to talk and would rather be indulging in geekiness

I'm the cousin you didn't know you had who you also vaguely suspect is in no way related to you.

Hmm,
KG would be my little sis, Dooms would be my big sis, Sylvee & Turj would be my parents, Brug would be Uncle Brug, and BC would be our dearly departed granddad.

I'm the bizarre neighbor throwing dead vole bodies and rotten cantaloupe into your back yard.

I see Brugdor as the hippie uncle with an organic raspberry farm that shows up in a psychedelic van at the Family Reunion blasting Incense and Peppermints. You know, the one that everyone thinks likes to get high but actually doesn't.

"Oh no man... I'm just high on life and my organic raspberry beat juice!"

Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?
Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

That isn't really too far off. Kind of scary.  :stunned:

Makes sense... good sense, innocence, cripplin' and kind.

Why is "Amerika" spelled with a "K"?

I feel like I'm in that alternate America from "Red Dawn".

Well... most of the Unwashed wouldn't appreciate being likened to my family, but Turjan and Petrarch both remind me of my uncle. But not the crotchety uncle, the uncle who's the only relation on that side of the family I value.
I am thinking of changing my title to "He who must only be mentioned in passing".

I think BlueCross would be the constantly inappropriate uncle that lies about when he was in 'Nam and always farts in the car during long road trips. *nods*

My uncle was honest and never lied or embellished about his experiences during 'Nam.

He said Canada was beautiful.
