So whats entertaining you today?
« on: April 28, 2011, 12:43:55 AM »
What is fun in your lives?

Im currently playing Dawn of War 2. My brother gifted it to me on steam so as we could play it LANishly. Its kinda fun. Certainly not like most RTSs I know.

Im reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Its good, like a light refresher of Brief History of Time

Im viewing the televisual programme Six Feet Under. Yeah, its oldish, but I missed out when it came through on telly, so now Im DVDing it.

Oh, and Suckerpunch was a cheerful way to turn my brai off for a couple o hours.
I got chocolate bubblegum!

I'm pretty entertained by spammers who think they can actually accomplish something by posting on this message board.  I suppose we are doing a public service by letting them waste a bit of time (even if only a few nanoseconds).   It's a bid sad, however, that the spammer won't come back to this board and read our comments describing him/her as scum-scumming shitbags with no self-worth who deserve to live in sewers.

I'm entertained that the spammers are only reading one thread to get their demographic, and then they arent even reading all 50+ pages of it.

Other than that, my last classes of my undergrad work are today and I get to spend the weekend writing papers. All my profs have decided that they would make our lives easier by having stuff due at the beginning of the week so that we can spend the rest of the week focusing on tests and studying. I'll be packing and knitting with a side of Korean movies on netflix.

I'm not sure they read any of it but instead use bots to search for key words and then 'create' headlines.

My particular favorite  is 'decode lolita prom dresses'.  That kinda hits close to home on a few subjects...

Replaying a ROM of Pokemon Gold. My 10 year old nephew got a remake of it they made for DS, its really funny how we can talk about playing (basically) the same game that i played when i was his age

Watched Star Trek: Voyager in a whim, and wow. Watched the entire 2nd season in 3 days. I want to watch the original series now. I never thought I would like Star Trek this much...

I'm currently working my way through Neil Gaiman's American Gods.
All right, I’ve been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man whose gonna burn your house down – with the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

Game of Thrones. Only trouble with it is that the episodes are only hour long, and now I have to wait almost a week for the next one... :(

Also, been reading Falling Angel by William Hjortsberg. Alan Parker made the film Angel Heart based on it. The weird thing about Angel Heart is that Mickey Rourke seems to think that his performance of Harry Angel sort of sucks and that he owes Alan one because of it. Could have fooled me. Not sure what a good Mickey Rourke performance would have looked like...  :)

It's amazingly good. It was the thing that definitely made me feel like Neil Gaiman's huge creepy cult following was well-deserved. So naturally I joined it.
