Arise Villagurs, vile spammers at our gates!
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:34:01 PM »
Ok, so we are getting hundreds of new members every week. This is all good, but none of these members are actual people; they are bots wanting to sell us time share apartments and prescription drugs.

So, as a safety measure, we will need some random questions that anyone can answer, but are difficult for bots to parse. Please fire away, and I'll add them to the cycle of questions for new members.

A few examples:

'To prove you are not a bot, type 'rutabaga' in the answer field.'
'In what year did the second World War end?'
'What is the name of the prequel to Fallout 2? (lower case)'

What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow? (African or European?)
What is the meaning of life?
Who speaks in the Mel Brooks film "Silent Movie"?
Who is Cartman's father?
In case of rapture, can I have your car?

Does a set of sets contain itself?
The sun beyond the mountain glows
The yellow river seaward flows
You can enjoy a grander sight
By climbing to a greater height

I have run out of places to climb. I will abandon this body and take to the air. We will leave twin vapor trails in the air, white lines etched into these rocks. I am the aerial. In my passing, I will send news to each and every star.

Mrs Brown says: 'Hapiness is an effect, not a goal.'

Charlie is yelling @barit0wned
PC: A spider laid eggs inside my body and I need to get them out before they hatch
DM: You'll need the spider's permission first...

Only if it contains the number 7:

"for the record, I'm not some kind of psychotic provincialist." - Than (ed: Cit. required)

Are you a spambot?  type yes/no
In the wasteland, the sly survive and the past and present are one, the sinners rot and the future is the ultimate purgatory

followed by:

Are you a liar?

Then we can determine if he is a bot or a liar.  In either case, we dump him.

Oh wait... you need to ask another bot if the first bot is a liar.

OK, new members can only tag-team sign up now.  We can't be too careful.
