Well... got everything ready for the first movement of stuff. The Hotel, Storage Unit and Truck are rented.

We're taking EVERYTHING we possibly can so they'll be less stuff later.

We have to move a vintage Tron machine. Let me clarify. We have to move a HEAVY vintage Tron Machine. That will be interesting.

It's going to be a rushed couple of days. Get the truck, drive to the San Diego Unit, move things into the truck, drive for 5 hours to Vegas, move things from the truck, go to the hotel, check in, get made up, go eat at Quarks, go see Spam-A-Lot, go to sleep, wake up, eat breakfast at Quarks, drive back, leave the truck, go to sleep and get up for work the next day.

At least it won't be boring. We're also taking the puppy with us. =)

Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

I'm applying to an MFA (master of fine arts) program in creative writing at a pretty good school.  Normally I'd never get in because my GPA blows, but I'm taking an advanced fiction class at said school as a non-degree student, and my professor is the director of the MFA program, so I'm going to get a recommendation from him and get him to critique the pieces I'll use in my application portfolio.

so basically hopefully I'll be back in school next year.

oh the excitement! 
going down on sunday to sort out jobs and check out the house
then 2 fridays after that, i'll be moving out of Alex's, driving 6ish hours down the road, moving into my new flat, having a house warming the next day and then maybe China Town for dinner on sunday  ;D

i also found out that the guy i'm seeing might have a wife but since i'm moving anyways, I don't really care. 

my friend's baby is getting dunked next sunday so got to get a Christening present and a new outfit tonight

its all terribly exciting!

Things are finally looking up. My mother-in-law is talking a little now and eating a bit more. They had her sitting up in a chair yesterday, which is excellent news. My father-in-law got out of the hospital on Tues. and he's already back to work, so we're back to worrying about just one person. If we could only find some sort of muzzle or cage for his sister. Out of a family of 10 children, I've never seen one person be able to alienate 6-7 of her brothers and sisters all at once. It's amazing and frightening at the same time. The bitch is pure evil.

?- Is Carib the same person as Rama Stryfe?

Not really, but most MFA programs offer a plethora of ways to squirrel out of paying tuition if they accept you.  For example I'm also applying to be a TA, which would mean they'd wave tuition and pay me a stipend.

today is my last day of my job here at Glasgow City Council

and i'm starting to feel quite sad :(

we've had a good day joking about and getting along and liz has been joking saying i'm fired to almost every clumsy thing i've done including dropping biscuits and spilling milk. 

now i feel sad :( but i'll see them on thursday so i'll be properly upset then
