If anyone has trouble getting to a spot, sometimes taking the train tunnels will get you there. I tried HARD to get to two locations and I attempted to fix it by "going around ONE more building".

There's so many paths I haven't taken yet. I can see myself playing this game several more times. =)
Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?
Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

Night Owl: Oh, indeed. I quit many a job ...better than being fired. You can keep your card... in fact, you get double points for quitting!

All the good things are so darn heavy  :(

I put one point into Strength at the beginning and have now had to raise it twice through perks just to be able to lug all this stuff around. I finally decided to continue on with the main story which leads to a fatboy and power armor that is too tempting to leave behind even though I can't currently use it.

Pity me with my Strength of Four.

I kept strength at 5 and traded off charisma in favour of intelligence. While it gets more skill points, I am regretting not putting an extra point into strength as I'm having to constantly throw stuff away to hold onto the big items until I get them stored.

I've also just noticed that Dogmeat is missing (found him near the scrapyard earlier), so I'll have to assume he bought the farm out in the wastes.

My character concept is:

A female who's good with speech, has her Dad's skill at Science and Medicine (Took the Daddy's Girl perk) and has an affinity for hacking computers and lockpicking.

Weapon of choice are laser weapons.

So she's agile, a good conversationalist, but not that strong and only so so healthy.

I am wearing the Sheriff hat that gives me a +1 to perception.

Well... I know how to get around the Windows Passwords, and I have a laser pointer. =)

At level 8 a perk opens up that allows you to carry 50 extra lbs. I was tempted but I decided to go with something else.

I ended up with very little Ammo in the Mirelurk terminal. The Combat Shotgun is VERY effective against them. =)

There's also a little trick you can do. If a Mirelurk is coming up the stairs, sometimes you can swing around where it's a few feet below you and you're on top. It'll charge into the area under you over and over while your APs renew. =)

Love the open ended feel. Love sneaking too.

Agreed. I just wiped out all the raiders from the Super Mart, and wiped out their returning friends, while sneaking. They didn't even touch me. Sneak-based crits rule!

I'm about to begin an attempt to reach Galaxy News Network. I suspect this might prove difficult as I've only got about 300 rounds of minigun ammo and the laser rifle isn't in a useable state. Time to fall back on the sniper rifle, but that's dangerously low on ammo too.

argh, this thread makes me cry !

I pre-ordered from Amazon 6 weeks ago, then they cancelled collectors ed, so i ordered from play.com, then amazon said cancellation as a mistake, but i didnt worry cos play.com was ordered, then when it didnt come yesterday or today, i called play.com to be told they hadn;t received any. I inquired as to whether it might have been expedient to inform customers of this, and was informed that 'we can't hunt down every supplier'. :/

So i am off to store to buy a copy now, wish me luck!

If nothing else perhaps some of our posts here will help you in character creation to make it easier on you.

For those having strength problems:

There's a quest called "Those!" (you'll get the pun when you see what you're doing) and the reward is choice of injection that increases your strength or your perception by one.

Aye, that was the first perk I took that increased it.

Also bobble heads can apparently raise your stats. I got one last night that raised my Intel by 1. I'm assuming some would also give perks if some give stats.
