Unwashed Village / Movie reccomendations

Work has been a bitch lately and extrememly emotionally draining. I need a good sob story reccomendation to reset myself. You guys got any ideas?


As a genral reccomendation I'd say Jackie Chan's "Project A" and "P roject A 2." There are some great classic farce set ups and Jackie Chan plays the quintiscential Jackie Chan Character. (The man has 2-3 basic character archtypes he plays. It's worth it to spend the time binging his movies on netflix, if you actually need an example of his work)

"Little Big Soldier" is my favorite of Jackie Chan's work so far. It's Chinese history and Jackie Chan singing and I didnt know that was a combination I'd love to see more of.

I belong to a group on a knitting website that brings people together for geek themed swaps (make geeky knitting items around a theme). I just got my infor for a Hobbit themed swap.

My question (and how to interest everyone here): what would you want to recieve in such a package? Or what hobbit themed items would you like?

I'm asking because I am having trouble finding patterns without resorting to "generic medieval item." I am supposed to include a minium of three handmade items (small medium and large) and onlu have a solid idea for one of them.

I made polenta from scratch yesterday and it turned out fairly well. I'm having some issues getting a proper crust/browning when I fry it, but that's a nitpick.

This was my first new recipe in a while and I now want to look for more interesting foods to make.

Anyone have any fun recipes for a "college friendly budget?"

Unwashed Village / Faith vs. Reason

So..... I forgot to do my homework over the weekend and I'm enlisting you for help to try and breath life into the board.

What are your feelings on the subject? This is taking the question away from the idea of "science vs. religion" and into a broader picture of what goes in the thought process to get to those points. One way to look at it is to ask "Can science and religion/faith and reason exist together or are they separate thoughts entirely?"

I know I tend to ask this alot, but this is an assignment that will probably be more fun with help from more people.

I'm in a fiction class with an assignment to make a list of descriptors or words to use figuratively/literally in a story. I've got my own starting list but the last time I asked I got words that made similar exercises much more fun and challenging. If you guys want to help, please, please, please give me something completely random to use. I kinda feel like being "that" girl in this class cuz the prof seems like she would appreciate it.
