Unwashed Village / Year
« on: January 01, 2022, 01:08:04 AM »
I feel that “new year” was a bit too optimistic last year. This year needs to earn any kind of positive recognition.

Just thought I'd get in and say it sometime before April, glad I beat the rush.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and new year!

Unwashed Village / Drunk post

Don’t you hate it when you’re a bottle deep in to a Southern comfort binge and all you can think to say is “I love you guys?”

Clearly the subtext here is that i’m Undoubtedly drunk but my perspective has matured, right?

Comparative investenent strategies anyone? Willing to fight you!

Unwashed Village / Karma

We have an office move today so I'm back in Glasgow properly for the first time in ten years, this is one of my favourite places in the world, so many happy childhood memories from when my aunt was here and I spent an awesome but bitter sweet year living here.

One of the worst was the time I spent working in PC world; the guy they promoted above me to run customer services was an abusive ass who always had me doing the most menial task. Working there was not a happy time to the point where I wished I'd stayed in the low prestige minimum wage Maplin job I held for a week before going back to PC world. Today I walked in to that Maplin and who asked if I need help but mr abusive ass, I found it a little hard to rise above and since he didn't recognise me I didn't make a thing of it but it's nice to see how far I've came by working hard.

Unwashed Village / Drunkled!

At least I think so, not really feeling it though.

Ah yes! I meant to say that Brewdog make some pretty tasty beer, the Californian ale is pretty nice.

Also wolfblass eaglehawk isn't a patch on the more premium stuff.

Well today is the day Scotland decides on independence, I'm going to put a much anticipated cross in the yes box. I'm can't wait to see us rise up tomorrow and start our journey back to nationhood!

My wife lost her keys so I left mine with her, she didn't hear me knocking so I put this up on the projector.

Unwashed Village / Farewell Seamus Heaney
« on: August 30, 2013, 04:05:16 PM »
Heaney was one of my favourite poets and one of the catalysts for writing my own modest affairs.  His work inspired me to study English literature so apart from the world losing a towering literary figure it's a very personal loss, he managed to humanise so much of what I saw as thorny and pompus in poetry and opened the door to a breadth of other great writers.

Here's to Seamus, one of the greatest of the age.

Happy new year wherever you are, it's 20 minutes into the new year and I'm happily sober... perhaps less so once I reach the bottom of the beer after this one  ;D

Has anybody had any experience with customising linux installs / installing xbmc on cortex A8/A9 systems?  If anyone has is there much point going down this route or should I just forget this and just go for a traditional x86 platform?

How odd, a non-drunk new year post from me.  I do have another glass of wine to go though, never know...

Little Fraser was born at 11:06 the night before last tipping the scales at 8lbs.  Mother and baby are fine but still in the hospital to make sure that feeding is established properly.  I really can't describe this feeling but I have so much love for this little man and his beautiful mum, I'm so proud of my gorgeous  boy and his wonderful mum.
