I made an hour long video about Fallout 76, I think it's the longest I've ever done.

Rule #1 always dress up in a flame retardant suit before expressing anything positive about Fallout 3 before going on NMA. :P

I used all of my tangerines making snowmen this week. I have bricks though, will they do?

It is a pretty cushy job, my Russian and Chinese employers aren't too happy about it but they figure I'll annoy you all into leaving.

Yeah, I infiltrated the UV seven years ago and I still haven't achieved anything. 🤷

Unwashed Village / Fallout 76 Poem
« on: December 31, 2018, 04:31:02 AM »
I played Fallout 76 until it was detrimental to my health, so I stopped.
It's currently 3 AM and I need to kill some time and the Unwashed Village is sorely lacking in poetry right now, so I thought I'd flex my none existent skills and give it a crack.

Scrounging through the dirt and scrap, I seek parts for my gun.
Jealous of the Vault Dweller, he got all the fun.
I broke my trusty hammer on a Scorch's stupid face.
It simply vanished from my hands, without a single trace.

Giant bats scream and roar as they sour through the air.
What the fuck, there's three of them! That's just not bloody fair!
Sonic waves from three angles and a rad fart on my head.
Just... fucking kill me now, I'm much better off dead.

Why won't my shack fit!? It's still lit up red!
'I won't have to take it apart, will I?' my lip trembles, with dread.
Before I logged out, it fit, snuggly, beneath that pylon!
Well now I'll have to start again! My canvas bag was actually nylon!

So hungry... So thirsty... Must find food!
I wish I had some atom points, so that I could go and ask that dude.
It's been a whole three hours, since that potato snack.
Now I lie, a skeletal wreck, on the floor of my rundown shack.

I found some entertainment, dressing as a clown.
Standing in doors and windows, throughout the ruined town.
They see some weirdo staring, femininely dressed.
The number of visitors have, oddly enough, regressed.

Rest in peace, I tell myself as I head off to war.
The Scorched threat await me, yet I'm stuck in the floor!
I'm too weighed down with crap, to teleport away.
Grenades fall through the floor, somehow, so here I must stay.

Bollocks to this barren world, in which I am now part.
Screw these glitches, bugs and issues, that have plagued me from the start!
'The Scorched can have this cursed place' I declared, with a sigh.
Now could one of you come over here, so that I can finally die!?

So my quest ends here, abruptly, without a whimper or a bang.
Just an irritable sigh, a combination of dread and fear, like a flashback to Da Nang.
I leave with this warning, simple and sincere.
Avoid Appalachia, if you hold your sanity dear.

Hopefully things are a lot more stable now.
Sorry to hear about your Father. It seems you're never 'old enough' to be able to take losing a parent, it changes you.

Your shop sounds like an odd place, I guess it's almost like a post apocalyptic general store, like Chet's?

Hope Christmas was great for you too! (As well as everyone else!)

I got a new phone, after needing one for nearly a year. The camera is so good, compared to the old one and it actually works, which is a nice bonus!

I guess I'm the only one who has played it. :D

It's so good, that I've spent the last three weeks, writing out a review for it as I find new flaws every day. The additions to the lore are insultingly stupid (the original super mutants are the result of an environmental catastrophe, created by a captain planet villain! Suck on that kids!) and the game is completey lacking in stability. You will encounter several glitches per play session, guarrenteed.

Then there are the long term issues, like how some part of the map can have you encounter 3 giant bat creatures, who are essentially dragons from Skyrim. Yes, you have to fight THREE dragons at once and sometimes this can happen, the second you spawn into the map. Like Bethesda are saying 'thanks for playing! Go fuck yourself! :D'

The weight is awful as well. With no companions or home base to dump your loot on (you have a camp loot but it has a max wg of 400, which is nowhere near enough), you will find yourself walking through most of the wasteland's perils, including the afformentioned 3 dragons attacking you at once fiasco.

The story is virtually none existent, it lacks anything interesting as most of the people involved are long since dead. It feels more like an online version of 'Everybody's Gone to the Rapture' than online Fallout. FOnline could have NPCs, so I don't know why this can't...

You'll rarely meet other players and when you do, they won't impact you positively or negatively. It's the pollar opposite problem of games like GTA Online, where everyone kills you on sight. Player interractions are somewhat meaningless, due to them not being able to hurt you, without your permission and you don't really need another person to complete a quest.

I've been playing it since the beta, almost every day and in spite of all of its flaws, I'd still say it's really average as an experience overall. There's fun to be had, I guess and I really like the new creature and weapon designs. Even the little things, like the guitar sword and Fallout-ized squirrels add a lot to the game and the factions are pretty decent on a concept level, along with some of the enemies like the Mole Miners and the Urban Legends like the Mothman.

However, the fact that they're in Fallout 76 is even more insulting.

I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, especially not at full price. Maybe if Bethesda fix it up a bit, it would be tollerable but even then, it won't ever be good. It's too... nothing to ever be something.

I'll post my review, when I finish it. I'm still scripting the bastard and I'm still writing the stuff I hate about the lore/story and main quest, so... it'll probably take a while. :>

I've played the Beta over the weekend, on your own it's kinda boring and I struggled to find a point in what I was doing. There's no NPCs to interact with or story to follow, the closest thing to the latter is finding a bunch of audio casset tapes that describe the backstory of an old lady you've never met and it's not particularly interesting.

I played it with my girlfriend and we had a bit more fun, we decided to build a house together, which made us want to gather resources and the like and exploring some of the world with your friends is kinda fun as the world is really well made. If anything the map is the best thing about it but it feels so empty and barren, that it feels like they made the map and called it a day. Well, the map and the new enemies, which are kind of interesting.

It feels more like a multiplayer mod foor Fallout 4 than a new game, it feels oddly lonely and lacking in any depth or motivation.

I played with my girlfriend for three or so hours on friday, played for an hour and twenty five minutes last night and didn't even feel like playing tonight. It's not terrible, per say but very very average.

I'm ordering the collector's edition, because I am are an idiot! :D

Oh and I'm getting it for PS4. Shame that Sony and Microsoft are dicks and don't do crossystem matching most of the time. :S

I'm more excited for Kingdom Hearts 3, you know, an actual good game.

I've got more hours out of Soul Calibur 2 than KH 1/2/BBS combined.  ;D

Kingdom Hearts 3 has taken so long to come out, I'm really struggling to care about it. I was twelve when I completed KH2 and I remember barely anything of it.

The PSP game was the best RPG on that console but even that's a fleeting memory as that was nearly ten years ago.

Kind of not getting the whole 'SC isn't a good game' thing though, like, I'm the first person to complain about the last two installments, given that they both ached for content but the gameplay, visuals and character creation are without peer.

Honestly, combining SC4 and SC5, you'd get a game on par with what the games used to be and I hope that SC VI will be that bit of perfection. SC II-III were masterpieces, so they are capable of being fantastic, they just need to get their shit together and actually make something that takes more than a weekend to beat.

SC VI is going to be a make or break thing for me, it'll either be the game that makes me give up on all Namco Bandai products or the game that saves them. So, I'm actually very interested in how it'll turn out.

Given that Tekken 7 was wank, in terms of delivering actual content, it really is make or break for me.

I'll probably buy KH3 but even if the game is outright terrible, it really wouldn't affect me at this point.

I've never played any of the Soul Calibur games. I guess I've never been cool.

You have that excuse at least, so you're cool for now. :P
