Id forgotten about this iteration of our village completely.

Fortune Cookie Wisdom:
Dont mess with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

What is fun in your lives?

Im currently playing Dawn of War 2. My brother gifted it to me on steam so as we could play it LANishly. Its kinda fun. Certainly not like most RTSs I know.

Im reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Its good, like a light refresher of Brief History of Time

Im viewing the televisual programme Six Feet Under. Yeah, its oldish, but I missed out when it came through on telly, so now Im DVDing it.

Oh, and Suckerpunch was a cheerful way to turn my brai off for a couple o hours.

Life update by Simon:

I am alive.
I did not move to brisbane.
I did however move to an apartment with my girlfriend. I am also studying again, although this has recently taken a bit of a self inflicted nose dive. I still needlessly sabotage my life, obsess over trivial details, and work myself into a state of crippling anxiety for no better reason than not wanting to "fail at life" like some lame Yossarian without the airplanes and whores.
Being a student still makes me poor, which still sucks.

And having read what I just wrote, I feel I should also mention that I am in fact far happier and way more in control of my faculties than I was some years ago. Improvement is good, but takes time.

First of all... this here is probably a good idea... this thread i mean.
I say this not just because it could provide genuinely revitalising ideas but also because frankly, I just skimmed the last few pages of posts, and it was downright depressing.
True enough, that may be because Im still recovering from BC's "metaphor" prose  :'( - But really, it felt like I was reading the death rattles of someone I love. I agree that the fun of the village was the humour and fiction... so why did I find it so heavily outweighed by the morose sobbing about days gone by?

Secondly, I dont think gimmicks work. A game, or a map, or what have you is great. But that's the kind of thing people should be doing as par for course, rather than using them in a concious effort to bring back a dead zeitgeist.

Yes. Dead... Zeitgeist. I dunno the average reading level of the current members, so I'll explain.
Zeitgeist is a word meaning the spirit of an age, and to paraphrase the Hagakure, it is not wise for one to wish they were in a different time, but rather to make the most of what (or when) they have.

So... with that being said, in the interest of getting people back in the hype...
I notice a distinct lack of turjans and lerks... I therefore offer my services as an illustrator to aid in whatever village-projects people decide are worthy of pusuing.

Hehehehe... zombie jesus.

would he go around preaching the merits of brains as food, or just get one brain and miraculously feed 500 zombie followers?

happy chocolate bunny decapitation day, because i've never known a child to go after the feet first
My niece did. She ate its face last, to quote her "So it could see the rest of its body gettin chewed up"

ps. dark chocolate is awesome and white chocolate is not really chocolate and should be banished as punishment for its lies.

The man knew that if the mixture was not to scruffy's liking, that scruffy need only bark the word, and he would become tonight's main chow.

The synthetic archtype factory inspectors make their rounds.
"See this one here, he' pulled is fuzzy hat down over his eyes, and is tapping his toes. Youve dressed a cowboy unit like a guardsman!"

Unwashed Village / Re: Question: Unwashed Village: The PC Game
« on: April 26, 2011, 07:45:02 PM »
oh, come on... rpg elements are in everything these days.

you could have little villager npcs wandering about doing random things... eg: once you build the bar, and there are enough npcs in it, shouting comes from inside... if you build a garden a couple o npcs come up and start arguing about what to grow - tea, coffee, tangerines, horrible turjanish experiments... when you build the church, and the bc npc and a female npc get into proximity of it, bc drools and the girl pokes him with a pointy stick.

see? humour opps a plenty.
