I have Metro Exodus but didn't play it for long until I had the next shiny thing to play with. Played through Metro Last Light though. I liked the post apocalyptic feel of the Last Light and I'm planning to get back to Exodus some time soon.

Still alive.

Working in a 24/7 care housing unit for challenging autistic people so no option for working from home here. Luckily no infected patients or staff yet.

As for other stuff, been married for a bit over a year now. Got three cats. Never going to have kids (unless the operation failed... twice). Don't really play much computer games these days but tabletop games with my wife and friends instead. It has been an eye opening couple of years learning what tabletop gaming has to offer nowadays.

Love my new career as practical nurse after 19 years in IT. Leaving my old work was the best decision in my life I think.

I haven't tried that one, but recently bought Fallout: The Board Game.

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/fallout/

I've only had time to play it a couple times so far, but I'm liking it. It remains to be seen whether it gets repetitive, but supposedly there should be enough variation to keep it interesting.

Got myself a third cat - a Maine Coon kitten - a couple of months ago. It just got 5 months old and weights now 7.2 kg (15.9 lbs).

Finally became shodan in aikido (black belt, 1st dan) last Sunday.

I'm also graduating as a practical nurse this December specializing in working with handicapped people. I used to work earlier as a software developer for almost 19 years. My future salary will be only half of the salary I had in my IT years, but I'm happy that I decided to quit my earlier job a couple of years ago. I've come to conclusion that I value my mental health more than money and also working with the handicapped people feels very rewarding in itself.

The attached photo is from my current work practice place - a school for handicapped children - where I brought the kitten for the children to see one day.

Unwashed Village / Re: OK, who's played "Divinity: Original Sin"?
« on: February 25, 2016, 09:22:21 PM »
Divinity: Original Sin is one of the games I've participated Kickstarting and I've played it for... 43 hours it seems... since we first got our hands on it. It seemed like a nice game, but I'm easily distracted by new shiny things and tend to forget about the ones I dropped from my hands. I installed the enhanced edition when it became available, but haven't really tried it yet.

I would've liked to write a more helpful/detailed reply, but it's been almost 2 years since I last played the game and I should also be sleeping already instead of writing this...

I got the name Gretchy Anklekicker from Iggy over 15 years ago on an earlier UV message board. I wanted to change my username and asked for suggestions for some reason. Iggy suggested this name as a joke, but I thought it was still better than anything I'd come up with myself and started using it...

[edit:]

I thought I'd search my archives and see if I can find the message in which Iggy posted the name suggestion. I found the post after a good hour of searching. It was posted on May 2000. I also found another post in which Iggy says my existence (or the fact that I use the name) remains one of his proudest UV moments :)

Here's a link to a copy of the latter post:

I had Diablo 3 pre-ordered on PC, but ended up receiving the game in mail a couple of days after the launch. I had learned about the always online requirement and other problems with the game in the meantime and returned the game without opening the package. To further underline my decision, I gave the refunded money to a colleague for him to pledge on Grim Dawn on Kickstarter. I had already pledged $78 on it myself.

Grim Dawn is a pretty good alternative to Diablo. The game is not complete yet, but there's already plenty to enjoy. The first chapter of Act 3 was made available last month. I've been playing the game since alpha and I've clocked 94 hours on it so far.

Yesterday was my first day at school in over 18 years.

I had enough with the company I had worked for 18 years (in software development) and volunteered to be laid off as they had been constantly having lay-offs in our department for over 5 years. I didn't have any real future plans at the time but thought I'd figure out something. I was looking around for a bit over a year until I decided I'll start studying to be a practical nurse. Naturally that profession isn't as profitable as IT, but I thought I didn't need that much income anyway. I just end up buying silly stuff ;)

As for other happenings of lately, I graduated 1st kyu (final brown belt) in aikido just before Christmas and should start training also kenjutsu later this month.

The last three games I've been playing extensively are:

- Wolfenstein: The New Order
- Styx: Master of Shadows
- Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I didn't expect much of any of those games, but they all turned out to be to my liking.

As a Finn, I've had my share of cold weather in the past. I love this winter though. There was some snow here in November, I guess, but currently it's +2 C and no snow whatsoever   8)

Sorry to hear. I hope he gets better.

I just saw my nieces yesterday after a long while and thinking anything happening to them would be a disaster for me. Only hearing that the older of them got bullied at school got my blood boiling even if the case was already properly dealt with.

As for kids and recovery, they're apparently good at that. I was in ICU unconscious for a week myself after being hit by a car when I was 13. My parents were told that I wouldn't likely wake up anymore...

Unwashed Village / Re: Fallout 1, 2 And Tactics Free At GOG
« on: December 13, 2013, 10:12:18 AM »
I saw that (even though i have the disc... but i lost it)

Tried to sign up but, the traffic caused server crashes.

Never had Tactics before, but these are actually my third copies of Fallout 1 & 2. I didn't originally know about the censoring in the European version, so I decided to switch it to the American one for some extra money in the store. As for Fallout 2, I stressed that I wanted the American version and not the European one when I ordered the game on phone from a different store. I ended up getting the European version anyway and had to fight my case with the superior of the sales person for quite some time until he gave up and bought me the American one with his own money. I was told to send the European version back to the store, but I got it back later with a message saying they don't accept returns. So I had to send it again :)

The server load was pretty bad for me too. I kept trying for a good 15 minutes until I got the games on my account.
