Unwashed Village / Re: Fallout 76 Collector's Helmet Recall
« on: October 17, 2019, 10:23:26 PM »
It's the normal one, though they're identical, so I'm not sure how that works as it's supposedly the hood thing inside it that's moldy. Maybe it's a bad batch?

Yeah, I don't really know WHY one has mold and not the other, but a bad batch seems like a reasonable explanation.

After days of shuffling around, I guess if you have the normal non painted version of the Power Armor helmet you should be good.

If you have like a red nuka cola painted one from Gamestop, then you may need to look into the issue.

Unwashed Village / Fallout 76 Collector's Helmet Recall
« on: September 24, 2019, 11:21:01 PM »
Hey guys,

Just wanted to spread the news here for whomever it may concern but it turns out that an exclusive Gamestop version of the T-51b PA helmet that was given as part of a promotion for FO76. Apparently there's a chance of mold growing in the nylon helmet liner.

BE ADVISED don't wear it if you do regularly and probably check the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (If you're an American) and it currently says you should ask for a refund due to this recall.

Stay Safe and Unwashed

Kid: "Uh... I was just gonna ask where the loo is..."

I made an hour long video about Fallout 76, I think it's the longest I've ever done.
Link? :O

I wanted to throw in my ten cents about something that I liked most about Fallout and those are the unique and interesting Factions, some of which are nice and original in 76, but they aren't really factions if you think about it, since you can join them all with no restrictions or consequences. Since there are no NPCs, these aren't really factions but just remnants, which is boring af.

So you got some original factions made for the game:
The Responders - Makes sense for Public Service careers, such as Police and Firefighters, banding together to protect people or ensure that the world doesn't suck too much. Think of Minutemen from FO4 but not a silly twist of a real life organization that doesn't really have much connection to its real life counterpart. But, of course, they don't exist really in game, so there's that.

The Free States - Interesting way to answer what the doomsday preppers were doing in the Fallout Universe, but their early story of being a separatist organization for West Virginia is interesting too. That's pretty much it, they started a home base at Harper's Ferry then all died. Great.

Then old factions that somehow find their way into the game:

Enclave - I think the Enclave's existence in the game is the most understandable. The re-writing of their origins as a Cabal that controlled the Pre-War US is a (in my mind) cool change, since it kind of makes sense. But I think if we remember, the only reason they are called the Enclave is some communication error when the game devs switched to Bethesda. But, of course, it's gotta be like Fallout 3, so you got an AI controlling the faction again.

Brotherhood of Steel - This faction had a lot of flak with its presence in 76, and I still think the existence is a little cheesy. First of all, they seem to have outfits from Fallout 4 which I feel is a little wacky imo. Now the story is that Roger Maxson founded the Brotherhood, then some how got into radio contact with an army unit that his friend was in command of (Kind of curious as to why the Enclave wouldn't do this, but whatever) and then they became a weird detachment of the Brotherhood existing in WV. Then they all died, and no one talked about them anymore, very cool.

Anyway, sorry for spoilers, but I figured that the spoilers won't really hurt anyone's experience

A lady that I really like is also really into Crusader Kings 2.  Sadly, I am too stupid for that particular game.

Nonsense, I think being stupid and just doing what your gut says can make for some interesting Crusader Kings 2 shenanigans

I'd be down.
As for the Collector's edition, I may need to pass this time. 200 dollary doos for a helmet is a bit much

I put a few days into far cry five and I am super butthurt about it.

Maybe other people will be into it, I'm not trying to hate.  All I am saying is that if anyone wants to jaw jack about far cry five, I have some opinions.
I am intrigued. Far Cry has been a series I never took the chance to get into and I've decided I was going to play the second one to get into it.  But I would like to hear your thoughts on it

Remember me?

I was 19 when I first showed up around here and now I'm approaching 38 - doesn't time fly?

Anyway, here's the news: I'm one week away from beginning the journey into Fatherhood, we're having (non-identical) twin girls. I need to figure out this parenting job as I go along.

Congrats on the twins my man!

Graduated with my Bachelors last month. Looking into taking the GRE for Grad School and then hopefully looking for a job (any job) and some internships/volunteer positions at museums so I can build my resume
