Tea is better because I said so, and this thread has my name in the title... instant authority!

technically any vote for chai is also a vote for tea.

*nods*

Just tea with spices and a lot of milk.

mmmm - spices

I should make a pumpkin pie.

C-O-F-F-E-E.

I'll usually only drink tea when I've got a sore throat (mixed with honey). I'm just too used to coffee's strong kick.

definitely Tea

the British Empire was built on cups of tea and its also been proven to be the Elixir of Life

there's nothing that can't be solved over a cup of lovely strong milky tea..mmmmm......tea.....

while i do appreciate coffee, it doesn't have the same soothing qualities as tea

TEA

TEA

My current view is this : Coffee in the morning, tea at night.

I know tea has caffeine but it makes me sleepy for some reason. Any tea aficionados know why?

What type of tea do you drink?

I'm an Earl Grey or Gunpowder Green Tea myself, never had a problem falling asleep.

Well what I'm saying is that any form of tea makes me sleepy, while coffee wakes me up. I'm sure there's a chance of it being psychosomatic but I'm curious if there's a chemical reason or if other people feel the same way.

I usually drink varieties of mint or green tea. There was a mix we got in Seattle called the Emerald Blend, variety of mint teas, really good.

But yeah, dunno what it is. I like them both but for different reasons and at different times of the day.

Coffee tends to make me sleepy, coffee gives me a migrane though and if I have too much the first symptom is feeling sleepy.

Tea doesn't make me sleepy which is odd because I remember reading that tea contains more caffeine than coffee.

On the whole I enjoy both but Coffee is a rare treat.

I like tea but I drink coffee.

(that just doesn't sound as profound as I was hoping)

I like being wired.

Also... I'm an American. We throw our tea into the harbor. It's just part of us.

Nope. Although a strong tea will overlap with a weak coffee in caffeine content, overall coffee wins hands down.

so out of the 14 who voted... is tea the hands down winner?

I  debated mentioning that after the British Empire remark from Sweetpea.

I know of a girl - she once replied to this guy I know 'I don't like coffee or tea, they taste like favored water.'

that was a waste of good tea and no self respecting Brit would ever encourage that although incidentally, coffee was the drink of choice in Britain until tea came along....

zing!

I like both, but indulge in coffee, tea is mainly when I'm feeling sick or if I've had two pots of coffee and still need something warm ter drink.

Coffee and tea both suck ass.  You might as well argue about what kind of dirt tastes best with toast.

I find that soil rich in humus and a touch of peat tastes best.

Toast is bland and requires good ol fat to make it palatable.
Mmm butter fat XD

Anyway, why would you go and burn a perfectly good piece of bread? :(
Poor bread. It wanted to live!

Tea, obviously.

I can drink coffee, but even the best coffee doesn't really measure up to even mediocre tea, to say nothing of the vast difference to something like PG Tips.

American stereotypes indeed.  *snort*

Someone pass the scones.  Whatever they are...  ;)

Good bread is hard to find, period.  It can surprisingly hard to find good bread no matter where you go.  I mean, French Baguettes can be one of the most basic "breads" that you see, but most bakeries can't even make a decent one.

you don't burn it, you toast it.

and anyways, sometimes it brings out the flavour of the bread more like the oatmeal bread i'm having just now.

mmmmm...toasted oatmeal bread *drool
