Unwashed Village / We got three kittens
« on: September 10, 2008, 10:51:06 PM »
Finally, I can join the cat talk. Only for a while though - we're not keeping them.

My girlfriend (who is a vet) brought them home as she would have to put them to sleep otherwise. They're only 3 weeks old, and they can't go to a shelter before they're 12 weeks. They were left on the doorstep of the clinic, where she works.

Anyway, I don't have any pictures yet, but I'll post them once I manage to take some. I'm not really a cat person, but who can resist tiny little bottlefeeding kittens? With tiny little needlelike claws.

Unwashed Village / I dreamt about RottZombie..
« on: August 15, 2008, 09:03:52 PM »
I think it might be time to leave the village ;)

RottZombie has officially entered the ranks of the lucky villagers who have visited me in a dream (as the second member).

Quite a strange dream (aren't most?): He and his family were visiting Denmark for some reason, and thereby also me. It was only a short cameo, but he was sitting in my living room, and I wanted to take a picture of us. The rest of the dream, I spent looking for a hat of mine for him to wear, because apparently, any picture of RottZombie must include someone wearing someone else's hat. I then remember that I do not own any form of hat, and woke up.

Double-U Tee Ef?

Unwashed Village / Sweet Zombie Jesus, Great News Everyone
« on: July 27, 2008, 10:46:29 AM »
This is the best news since they announced Fallout 3!

Quote from: Sam Raimi
“I love working with Bruce Campbell and he’s like Allison [Lohman, star of Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell]. He’s super willing to do anything to make it right. He’s a very funny guy, but mostly he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I’d love to test those limits. I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan [Raimi] when he comes up next week.“

Unwashed Village / I finally graduated
« on: June 23, 2008, 11:25:40 AM »
After 5 years of studying computer science, I'm finally done. I had my last exam today, and I'll receive my dimploma on friday. I don't really know what to do with myself right now - it's just weird to think that I'll never have to hand in an assignment or take an exam again.

Work starts in a week, so I won't have much time to relax before I begin.

It's just a huge relief to know that I won't have to worry about money as much anymore, and that I don't have homework hanging over my head in the evenings.

Unwashed Village / Looking to invest
« on: June 10, 2008, 02:31:16 PM »
I have recently come into money, and I am looking to venture inte the field of goat herding, but which species do you think I should invest in? I don't have as much experience as many of you have, so any opinions are welcomed.

I plan on a diet exclusively consisting of cardboard boxes, do I need to remove the tape from them before feeding the goats?

Anyway, I have it narrowed down to two species:

The Markhor

and West Caucasion Tur

Obviously, the Tur is cheaper and more readily available, but I have a fear that the fact that they are nocturnal might be a problem. What are your experiences? Should I be looking at a entirely different species?

Unwashed Village / I.. bought.. an Apple product
« on: April 25, 2008, 02:58:21 AM »
Does this mean that I will have to wear more suede and start painting? 'cause I already play the guitar, doesn't that count?

My girlfriend decided to put my phone in the washer although I specifically remember placing the phone in my pants pocket on top of the opened laundry basket, not IN it, after coming home at 7:30 am after a "few" beers.

Anyway, so far the iPhone is great - it's the most expensive phone I've ever bought, but it has a lot of nifty functions (well, at least after jailbreaking it). So far, I've mostly played Flight of the Amazon Queen through ScummVM and Pokemon though the Gameboy Advance emulator.

One thing I'm still missing though is a danish keyboard (iPhone isn't out in Denmark yet, so I have a US version), and proper jukebox functionality. iTunes is rubbish though. And I hate that I have to register credit card information just to get album covers.

So far, I give it a 514.

Unwashed Village / Finally bought a motorcycle
« on: April 17, 2008, 01:10:48 PM »
Only problem is that I can't ride it yet. I have the teoretical test today (multiple choice, 25 pictures with up to 4 yes/no questions each, need 20 pictures completely correct to pass). I don't know when the driving test will take place, but I'm hoping very soon.

Bought a '99 Suzuki sv650s, which I am really looking forward to giving a spin, but alas; I must wait.

Small images, not taken by me.

Unwashed Village / Don your speedos, the EU server is a reality
« on: April 10, 2008, 01:14:30 AM »
Welcome to the new server in Europe. Techinically, we've been on a EU server since the old account expired, but now, we're here permanently. Once again, let me know if there are any problems with the board.

Unwashed Village / Unwashed.org is DOWN
« on: March 31, 2008, 06:51:47 PM »
So our IX webhosting expired.. Unfortunately, we did have enough time to move it. As a backup, I have already purchased unwashed.eu, which we will use until we get unwashed.org back. I'll let you know when it's on the new server.

Unwashed Village / I got a (real) job!
« on: March 10, 2008, 10:00:52 PM »
So, after taking your advice, and looking around for other options, I decided that my current (part-time, student job) employer is the best option for me. The boss let me know two weeks ago that if I wanted to continue on after the summer (when I graduate), there's a job for me. I told him that I wanted to look around before signing on.

Well, today I signed on. This will be my first fulltime job - I start in july, so there's plenty of time to go, but it's always nice to know the road ahead.

Just wanted to share the news :D

Unwashed Village / Getting a motorcycle, any recommendations?
« on: March 09, 2008, 05:22:58 PM »
Just today I went on my first motorcycle lesson, and I'm absolutely exited about getting one.

I don't know if any of you have bikes, but if you do, let me know if you have any recommendations for bike or equipment.

Now, I don't know a lot about motorcycles, so I went by others advice on my first idea for a bike. I was recommended a Suzuki GS500E, but I've been told that it'll get boring too fast and that it's too small for my height. My teacher recommends a Honda CB500, which looks better, drives faster and has ABS brakes.

For equipment, I plan on getting a leather jacket with back protection and a safe helment. I'll wait to get boots just yet.
