There seems to be either a misconception or willful ignorance about tasers and what they do from certain groups that get bent all out of shape when someone is tasered. Does it feel good? No. Is it life threatening? No...unless of course you are a 300+ pound junkie whose heart can't take the shock or something. Cops are tasered as part of their training so they know what it feels like. All it is is a safer way for a cop to get control of a situation than to actually have to fight the person until they are still enough to put cuffs on them. Is it abused? Sure, at times it is and at times cops use a taser when better options existed to control a situation. The college kid in Florida that just got tasered being a prime example of the better options existed scenario. Still, I don't see being tasered as being any worse than getting swarmed by 3 or more cops as one of them pulls my arms behind my back while another puts his knee on the back of my neck. Either way, it's going to hurt and the best option is to not piss off a cop.
