The bottle of Grey Goose. :P

I may no longer be an active member, and haven't since the time before the first board schism, but I'm fine with whatever you all decide.

Where we post isn't what makes us Unwashed Villagers, it's the insanity and high levels of radiation that we give off. That, and the utter lack of soap. I know it may not mean much coming from someone who is never around (by his own choice of having an incredibly active/busy life and general apathy towards forums,) but I hope the UV flourishes again.

I agree with Bluecr.....I can't say that with a straight face (or a sideways, or upside down face.) But just think BC, more victims er visitors to the vestibule!

Actually, now after the latest Twitter post, I think the teaser mech image is probably going to be an Atlas.

Things are going well. I'm in a medical study that has stopped the progression of my illness.

-Kama-

Dude! AWESOME!

Long time no type! Glad to see you doing alright!

/hugs Tink, too

That would actually be pretty interesting, being able to actually melee. Would make city fighting and 1v1 duels rather interesting if you get up close and personal.

51
Really makes since given how they basically went through a stunted cycle of tech growth after losing so much know how due to Kerensky leaving the IS.

Could make salvage really interesting, got a lucky head shot and a free mech? Maybe it's core exploded and all you can recover is some weapons which you need badly due to omnimech tech not being around yet, so you need a large laser to replace that destroyed large laser in the field, no time to retrofit to make it work.

What types of mechs do you want to see for this game given the time period, and what's are a few of your favorite mechs (doesn't have to be limited to the game's time frame.)

I really like the Zeus and the Wolfhound, hope both make it into the game.

52
Yeah all my favorite mechs are the clan ones, I'm gonna have to go back to old school IS stuff and remember what the crap was available back then.

I liked a lot of the old IS designs, like the Wolfhound and the Valkyrie (not a big chance on that being in game, I'd think.) Also really always enjoyed the Zeus, which is often featured in the newer games.

Considering the time line they're putting this game into, it's not far fetched to think a Clan expansion is going to happen. So far the Inner Sphere News Network is mentioning 3048, in 3050 is when the Clans first invaded the Inner Sphere. This could be a really awesome string of games, first and all IS game, then one that lets you actually go through the beginning of the Clan Invasion.

53
I think the Battlefield idea really has a lot going for it, and just tweak it till they get it right for this kind of combat. Could have a lot of mixed combat that could really be incredibly awesome.

I'm going to have to bust out all my old tech readouts, still think it's an archer but now I just have a little Btech bug going. Should almost use this thread for what kinds of Mech we want to see, based on the time period. Not sure if they'll use any mechs from 3050, but some of them were in use at the end of the Succession Wars, if barely.

54
Supposedly one of the developers tweeted that using an Unseen (legal issue mech) wasn't the actual cause for the delay, but they really haven't said anything past that.

Having infantry and aerospace would be awesome, would definitely make multiplayer incredibly amazing and deep. Just imaging that learning curve for all three types, is just awesome. Faster mechs, while more vulnerable would still be able to duck into cover (relatively) faster then the larger ones, aerospace having to watch out for the armaments on some of the bigger mechs (unless they're already engaged on the ground) and infantry having the bonus of size letting them sneak around and help out however they can.

Probably going to be more of a standard mech on mech type of game though, which still won't be bad.

On the developer's actual site, they've got a twitter feed that's basically giving out info on the game but using it as an in universe source of info.

http://www.piranha-games.com/MechWarrior.html

I'd say the mech they're piecing together might be a Dragon or an Archer, but maybe it's a new mech altogether they're being allowed to make for the game. Not sure if they've said or not.

55
Can't waaaaaaaaait for the new mechwarrior, especially since I don't have crysis so can't use the living legends mod. Third Succession is also a pretty great time for the game, depending on which part of the war it'd be set around the original mechwarrior computer games (Inception was 3028), and with Zap Weisman running the project I'm really hopeful. And hopefully the Macross-mechs will actually be there.

Also, woah Celest. :o

Well, the Warhammer is pretty much confirmed to be in the reboot still, so I'm guessing they're still able to use those mechs. Seems the time period of the game is going on around the year 3048, guessing it's in the end years of the war.

And Swash, hope that kind of thing is important, that'd be a lot of fun.

56
Time to go Commando...

<.<

Thinking about it, it'll be interesting to see how advanced they'll make the 'Mechs, that time period they picked (assuming they're holding to the end of the Third Succession War,) means there's a lot of stuff they can't incorporate. No Clan or recovered Lostech to use, so it'll be pretty basic (not a bad thing.) It'll be nice if they make each type of mech really useful.

57
So they are finaly starting to ramp out information on the Mechwarrior reboot.

Yay!

Damn, and I thought they had finally nailed Battletech's coffin closed.

/goes digging!

Oooh, really?  Is this the one they got sued over the teaser for because it had the Warhammer in it?

It'll be interesting to see what they do with multiplayer in the current online gaming climate.

Supposedly a guy at Piranha tweeted that the delay wasn't due to Harmany Gold or the Unseen. I think they're ok using the older mechs since some of the newer material from the actual Battletech/Mechwarrior board game was allowed to use the machines (some of them,) again.

I thought this project would have gotten killed with how absent it's been, but man am I stupid happy that it's actually looking like it'll see the light of day! Kind of hope the delay has a positive impact on the game, single player and multi.

Working at a bookstore, still doing martial arts.

Just passing the time and enjoying life with my family and my nephew (who's 5 now, where does the time go?)

I should put a jab at Tink's age here, but I haven't seen her in a while =\

I was really young when I joined the Village, too. I think I was 13, having trouble remembering, it was like two or three months after the Village got it's own forum. My brother, who at the time went under CujoUV, got me into it. Both bought Fallout when it came out and were hooked.

Semi lurked for a bit since I was still getting used to the idea of a forum, but it was always fun to read through and have a ton of laughs. First got into it big while everyone was making board pic posts. lol

Man, I haven't seen people names like Clairol's in a long time, I really do miss the old Village. I'm just so busy now a days, and not really into the forum thing anymore that I really don't come around. Haven't seen Buffy, Amish, and the others in a long time. Hope everyone is doing alright, even if we'll never hear from them again.

I remember Lerk and baby grok (think it was grok...grog?) who is probably as old as some of us were when we first started visiting the Village.  Never did get a Lerktoon, but it was just fun going around and posting on crazy topics.

Even though I don't post a lot, I still love this place. Don't think anyone could have guessed it would have gone on this long, and though it's probably on it's last legs, hope it continues for a good long while yet.

That eliminating the spammer problem has cut the last meager thread of connectivity that has held us together?

That would be...

ironic.

Well, we've been together a long time. Many of us are in very different places and for whatever reasons don't frequent here like we used to.

Not that I think most here even know me cept for a handful anymore anyway.
