Peaceful protest outside a townhall meeting wherein a politician is trying to snow voters into believing in his tax hike leads to protesters getting arrested because, you know, we just can't have people telling the truth around here.

People are just fucking stupid.  And petty.  And these people end up in positions of responsibility, and fly bombers or drive giant tankers full of gasoline or work for children's services or run countries, etc. etc. etc.
