Unwashed Village / EA games on Steam

Interesting. It seems they are dropping their other forms of DRM for the Steam versions of their games. That means no install limits and no SecuRom. If you read the comments at BluesNews there's a link to a Valve person stating this.

California Supreme Court allows good Samaritans to be sued for nonmedical care
The ruling stems from a case in which a woman pulled a crash victim from a car 'like a rag doll,' allegedly aggravating a vertebrae injury.
By Carol J. Williams

Being a good Samaritan in California just got a little riskier.

The California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a young woman who pulled a co-worker from a crashed vehicle isn't immune from civil liability because the care she rendered wasn't medical.

So if you see a person in California drowning in a river, let them drown while you wait for EMS to show up I guess. They'll die but at least you are safe from a lawsuit if they break a nail while you drag them out.  ::)

Internet Explorer is used by the vast majority of the world's computer users

Users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer are being urged by experts to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed.

More info at the link.

Figured putting this in general would alert people more easily.

Hopefully to a deluxe jail cell in the ground. Score one for the voters who actually did something right here.

This kind of stuff amuses me. There are several sounds I hear over and over again in games that I recognize in a movies occasionally too.

Unwashed Village / So Canadians...what the heck is going on up there?
« on: December 05, 2008, 05:06:47 PM »
All I know is that opposition parties are trying to form a coalition to take control away from the party that you just did vote in. What I don't know is what led up to all of this and I was hoping to get informed by our folks who actually live up there.

New polls show that the voters aren't behind this move and would rather a new election was held but it also shows that they'd put the Conservative party in charge again. So I'm all kinds of confused.

I only put this in debate on the chance that we'd have Canadians who feel differently about what should happen. I didn't want flying poutine to injure anyone if a Canadian brawl broke out.  ;)
