And it doesn't stop there, the next push will be into the soft core porn market with emphasis on "the reality sex" subgenre with "Girls Gone Indecisive." It's a gold mine!

In all the years I've screwed around here for various reasons it finally occurred to me that "the Unwashed Villagers" would be a great name for a sketch comedy troop. We're not exactly "the kids in the hall" but there's a lot of creative stuff that's come up out of this place over the years. Hell, my "abstinence porn" idea would be a fifteen minute sketch, no problem. Merry Christmas and think on it, won't you?

Funny you should bring that up. My experiments seem to indicate that the pretention produced by the "hipness" event seems in certain cases to combine with one of the two produced "hipions" leaving a lone "hipion" that slowly seems to degrade over time. In other cases, however, pretentions seem to build up and predominate over time, suggesting the indirect influence of a third as yet undiscovered particle or wave produced by the event. Additional research into the Feynman diagram of what I call the "Lameion" a non elementary particle composed of certain types of pretentions may lead to further breakthroughs. Busy, busy, busy.

For example, look for the following titles on the DVD market "Debby really needs to get home to her kids, but seriously we are really compatible and she'd so see you again" and "I just don't know about third base II" and "Drunk enough for a mistake, but not drunk enough for you."

After hard labor in my workhovel, I am proud to present the latest advance in highly ironic disruptive technology. As usual, I am a Genius *pause for effect*. Now, most cool people know when something is cool, but it often doesn't remain cool over time. In fact, coolness seems to exhibit a number of properties similar to radiation in that over time certain things stay cool while other's degrade and become not cool. The key breakthrough in my research on the subject has been in the startling realization that coolness is not in fact determined by a single atomic particle or wave, but is an event similar to radiation where a number of elementary particles and waves are emitted. I would therefore like to formally announce the discovery of the "Pretention" an elementary particle that conforms to wave particle duality. Current high energy research at my workhovel seems to indicate that the coolness "event" produces two "Hipion" particles to every "Pretention." And this key breakthrough has finally allowed for accurate measurement of how cool and ironic you jaded cool people really are. I call it the "Pretentiometer", a device for measuring the presence of the Pretention particles and their corresponding impossible to measure Hipions. The derived unit of measure would be Hipion/Pretention giving us a derived unit, I call the "Bono" for obvious reasons. I am available to take questions.

Au contraire Owl, abstinence is the hottest fad in adult entertainment right now. It's the only way to stand out from the pack, given the masses of low quality product glutting the market.

Okay seriously, then I'll drop this. I'm filing my mp3's since it's the end of the year and I really want to have an excuse to file the Goo Goo dolls with Nickelback, but I'm not sure if they'd fit better in the "pretentious crap" playlist vs. the "alterna pop frat rock whatever" play list. Recommendations? Thanks.

In fact, tee shirt slogan "Now that you mention it, I actually have a twelve page report with me including these helpful charts in the Appendix explaining why that band you like sucks."

I don't know, I don't think its possible to have less of an edge than Bon Jovi. We're talking about a dude who sings about having a guitar that is really like a gun "cause he's wanted dead or alive." I got the sense that Rzeznik at least sort of meant what he was singing about on some emotional level? He's mediocre but at least he's trying to sound a little like the Clash.

How about this? What if we were to graph them based on the data from Blender or some such? Like if we throw Britney Spears, Billy Joel (who I think should be the baseline for mediocrity, not Bon Jovi, Billy is one of those guys who should know better but doesn't) Matchbox 20, Evanescence and hell Limp Bizkit up there, figure Jon Rzeznik and company probably come in in the upper half of that pack? I guess we're talking relative levels of badness.

No, no Hoop, I know they are bad. But I need to know what "kind" of bad? Emo bad? Or just, bad, bad?

I know I tend to ask this alot, but this is an assignment that will probably be more fun with help from more people.

I'm in a fiction class with an assignment to make a list of descriptors or words to use figuratively/literally in a story.

Still cheating on homework assignments huh? I can fix this problem for you in five seconds. Go to the library and get a copy of Gabriel Garcia Marquez "100 years of solitude" open a random page and pick words to add to your list. Tah dah. Victory for ZIM!
