I feel like they forgot to include a radio message from Atlas at that point, 'cause there is a reason you have to do it- to get the door open.  However there's no way for your guy to KNOW that, unless he's aware he's in a video game- "Locked door?  Hmm, I'll be the only way to open it will be something conspicuous and nearby!"

It definitely would have made more sense if Atlas had popped in with "Hey guy!  That door's busted, but if you inject that giant container of fluid into your wrist you'll gain freaky superpowers that'll let you unlock it!  What's that?  That much liquid would cause an insane amount of pain and swelling and probably burst your veins?  Nonsense!  Get splicing!  No, wait.  Do it slowly so I can listen.  That's nice."

I'm freaking out
Nowhere near my place and I
Know that they've seen me now

Out tomorrow here, got a limited edition on its way through the mail so hopefully it'll arrive in the morning. Fast of Amazon, as they normally didn't send it until release day any other time I've used them.

PC version I took. Though I have a 360, I'm waiting for Halo 3 before it sees heavy use.

Finaly got the game running and it looks great on DX 10.

Uhm.. DirectX10 isn't out, is it?

Anyway, I think I will cancel the Xbox version of it, and get the PC version instead. The controls simply don't work, and I want to try out my new PC anyway :D

You know, I think this character must suffer from the same mental deficiency that the characters in diablo 1 did.

With my new system.. PC..

Finaly got the game running and it looks great on DX 10.

Oh, and most vid cards these days can hook up to TV's.. much like how I could hook it up to the HD TV I have in my room, should I decide to move my desk close enough or get a long enough cable.

My only bitch about the game so far is that the beginning doesnt make a whole lot of sense.. but afterwards.. great :}

The only part of the beginning that didn't make sense to me is why exactly you'd be compelled to use that first plasmid you find.

Well, that was the biggy.. the other was what in the world posseses you to hop into a steel ball and pull an lever that you have no idea what will happen on some odd island in the middle of the ocean.. after that though..

Oh, and DX10 came out with Vista.

Holy crap, I've been running Vista on my laptop for ages, and I didn't even realize. Last I heard, they were rumored to push it, just like they did WinFS. Maybe I should install Vista on my desktop, which actually has a DX10 capable graphics card.

Christ, as a geek, I should know this. *goes to hide in shame*

Made it to the third area today (Smugglers) and am having a great time with it. This could easily win Game of the Year honors IMO. Like Than, I've chosen to save the little girls and haven't regretted it.

Oh I saw this update over at Bluesnews on the activation issue -

http://bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=80433

They are moving up the number of activations you can do plus some other things that don't make it perfect but certainly are an improvement over the first setup they had.

I'm already annoyed with it. The serial key I entered is plainly correct yet the stupid thing refuses to activate.

That'd be pretty bloody irritating.

Is anyone else who has it for 360 having disc loading problems?  Whenever I get a new plasmid the game seizes up for 5-10 seconds while it reads the DVD- 3 times so far that's caused a total freeze.  Obviously my DVD is brand new and my 360 is pretty new, haven't had any other problems with it reading discs.  It's pretty irritating, especially since I'm used to playing shooters with checkpoints (meaning you don't have to save), and the fucking vita-tube gimmick means that you never really have to save out of fear of incipient death, so I almost never save.

I gotta say, the vita-tubes are fucking lame.  There's basically no penalty whatsoever for dying.  There should at least be a "I'm a real man" mode where the vita tubes don't work.

I had a look at the technical forums.

Judging by the amount of complaints there about both the PC and 360 versions, 2K have *really* dropped the ball over the way the the release and copy protection has been handled.

I've completely given up trying to get it to activate now as it simply won't work so I'll just send them a mail and wait for a stock answer that's very nice but no help at all.

Edit: On what was the 43rd attempt to get it to activate it finally did. Now I'm all for stopping software piracy, but the way these guys have done it makes we want to extract their spleen via their throats and beat them to death with it.

Ya, I had massive issues getting it to run.. If you are a PC user, especially with Vista, try to recompile the game and make sure you update DX to the 'most shineist newest' parts. That's what I had to do to get mine to run.

After it starts, though... it's very much worth it.

Look to the steam site.. they have some tips and tricks posted on how to fix the various PC issues.
