Oh, absolutely. But we're talking about possible auto-leveling in FO3 (or at least I am :) )  I'm kinda hoping it's there in some form, and that the world is much more freeform than before (like Oblivion is.) They probably do have a few kinks to work out (as Solwyn points out), but I'd still really like to see it.

And to be honest, I think at least SOME is necessary in a free-form world. I just don't want it to be that I level up and go back to an old vault and suddenly the rats in the tunnels have been replaced by mutants with mini-nukes. Now if mutants took the place over, that makes sense.

But it kills the immersive nature of a game when you relegate world-design features to things that automated.

So I guess all I'm asking for is a little more control over the process. : )

The thing that bugged me the most in Oblivion was bandits with glass armor, etc. THAT wasn't necessary. I could live with different creatures (but yea, some evidence of "they took over" would really be cool)

Well yeah if you're this guy.

That would be a big QED.

But this guy got all the ladies...

but wanted all the men...

Why anyone would want to dress up as Elan from Order of the Stick is beyond me.

Although, Elan does get to shag the party rogue. But something tells me this guy doesn't have an 18 charisma.
All right, I’ve been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

I never invited him into my party.  Never.

He doesn't have boobs.

I wish I had a boob so I could go to Bluecross' party.

Let me know if you need my photoshopping skills.
Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?
Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

Night Owl: Oh, indeed. I quit many a job ...better than being fired. You can keep your card... in fact, you get double points for quitting!

Yeah, BC is a big enough boob anyway.

Im both excited and worried about the impending release of Fallout 3..... I mean, on one hand, its been over TEN YEARS since fallout 1&2 came out....it sorta has to be updated somehow, correct? But how can it live up to its forefathers?

Ive enjoyed Oblivion quite a bit, and the shear amount of "stuff" one can do is incredible... so if they can apply that to a fallout true world, ill be happy. But only if they keep its core spirt intact, I.E. the humor, style, general atmosphere.

But on one hand it'll never live up to the first time one pops in Either of the first 2, and marvels at just how awesome those games were. you cant recapture that, no matter how hard you try.

So I wont expect that.... I'll just try and imagine it as "What if..... Fallout was orginal now...."
Because more or less, its so far removed from its last true incarnation, what else can it be seen as but a whole new entity?
To me it seems only fair....it has been TEN years.....
Back from the Wastes after far, far to long....

A minor bump, but here's the achievement list for the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3. Not sure if this is confirmed or not but 2 of those achievements are in the game for sure so it looks to be on the level.
