Title: Star Wars: The Old Republic
Post by: Petrarch on October 21, 2008, 11:56:40 PM
The worst kept secret in gaming has been announced today - Lucasarts & Bioware are working on a new Star Wars MMO. It's penciled to be set 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic 2.

Ever since Sony hosed Galaxies with that NGE thing, the only part I missed was my characters lightsaber, used to love watching the animations. Looks like the good old days will roll around again.  ;D

Looks tasty indeed - but I still miss my SWG X-Wing Advanced more than the lightsaber myself. If they plan to have ship combat & crafted ship parts in this new venture, then it would certainly have my blessing :)

If they remade the old X-Wing and Tie Fighter games exactly the same except for updated graphics they'd make a fortune. They are still the best flight combat games I've ever played.

Replace flight with space and I agree 100%.

All things considered, if this turns out twice as good as SWG they have my money. And soul.

And probably my firstborn.

I'm still hesitant.
I shall not forget KotoR 2. Ever.

It seemed rather forgettable to me, and apparently to the developers as well if the sidequests they forgot to finish coding are any indication.

I think that was KP's point. Never forget (the mistakes of developers). Never forgive (the follies of trying to release a game to coincide with a movie).
