AoC anyone?
« on: May 20, 2008, 01:02:22 AM »
Looks like I'll have characters on both Set PvE and Death Whisper open PvP servers. I wasn't going to do it because of the open beta performance and because of the T&A factor. However I'm hearing from friends that the current client is 10x better than the open beta client they gave out (very stupid move on their part IMO) so you can actually run it on a mid-range machine. Also the launch for pre-orders didn't suffer from any major snags so it appears to be fairly smooth going for an MMO launch. As far as the T&A stuff, I'll deal with it when I get to it I suppose. It's lame that they included it as it's an obvious ploy to get the WoW kiddies to play even though they are too young to buy it. Funcom knows that most parents won't check the label though so they end up getting the subs.  ::)

What aren't you liking about it? I'm finding PvP to be rather fun but PvE lacks...something. Maybe it's all the bugs with the mobs that are still around *shrug*

Heh. My friend described AoC like masturbating with a weedwhacker.
Looks cool, but is oh so painful

Your friend needs to stop doing that and comparing it to other things.  :stunned:

Sad, but true.

My main gripe is the retarded instancing, it fucking ruins the game for me. Even more so the ability to switch between instances int eh same area, it removes the possibility of camping/griefing/forcing people to fight, now they can jsut run- all the way into a parallel dimension :bigcry:

Changing instances was nerfed hard though in the last patch. You have to be very close to the spawn point in order to do it. Kind of sucks because I was using instancing to travel faster through zones.

So, speaking of really important stuff...

Did they leave the full nudity option on for the US version?

I mean, why else would I want to buy this game?

Hehe oddly enough all the people in my guild that have hit 45+ are tending to agree at this point. I think casuals will be fine as they will level too slowly to hit the dead leveling ranges, bugged feats, and bugged quests before they are fixed.

Overnight there was a shift in my guild from "Conan!" to "So...when's Warhammer guild beta again?"
