Movie reccomendations
« on: February 24, 2016, 08:55:24 AM »
Work has been a bitch lately and extrememly emotionally draining. I need a good sob story reccomendation to reset myself. You guys got any ideas?

As a genral reccomendation I'd say Jackie Chan's "Project A" and "P roject A 2." There are some great classic farce set ups and Jackie Chan plays the quintiscential Jackie Chan Character. (The man has 2-3 basic character archtypes he plays. It's worth it to spend the time binging his movies on netflix, if you actually need an example of his work)

"Little Big Soldier" is my favorite of Jackie Chan's work so far. It's Chinese history and Jackie Chan singing and I didnt know that was a combination I'd love to see more of.

(Why yes, I did just finish watching all of Jackie Chan's movies on Netflix last week. How did you know?)
In case of rapture, can I have your car?

Moon's good, with Sam Rockwell, it's one of my favourite movies ever.
The sun beyond the mountain glows
The yellow river seaward flows
You can enjoy a grander sight
By climbing to a greater height

I have run out of places to climb. I will abandon this body and take to the air. We will leave twin vapor trails in the air, white lines etched into these rocks. I am the aerial. In my passing, I will send news to each and every star.

Mrs Brown says: 'Hapiness is an effect, not a goal.'

DM: You'll need the spider's permission first...

I'm not sure I follow you. Work has gotten you in a bad mood, and now you're asking for a movie to make you feel even worse?

I wanted a cathartic cry. The idea was to build the emotions to the breaking point then the hormone release to would ease some of the emotional stress of holding my tongue.

Ahh.. Well, hopefully you're in a better mood now :D

But next time (not that I hope there will be a next time), try Dear Zachary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1152758/). It's about a man who is murdered before he can meet his unborn son. The movie is made by his friend. (It's a documentary)

If it's fiction, I can pretty well watch anything, no matter how gory or wretched or miserable.

But if it's a true story (or mostly true)...  just can't do it.

Weird, eh?
