So I've succeeded in becoming a damn good teacher.  The only dream I have left is writing!  When you and I and other guy tried last time, I rapidly faded away, and I'm not sure what was going on with you guys.  Collaboration is always a delicate balance between direction and pride.  Anyway, we could try again, eh?  I'm amped on life right now.  I get to teach a class on discrete mathematics this year!  IT'S SO EXCITING.

Writing...

I'm not really sure why I am NOT a writer.  I should be.  I want to be.  In fact, I even write!

But I don't write enough.  I don't stay with one subject or one theme.  I'm lazy.  Or maybe just tired.  Or old.  Or all of the above.

I finally 'started' my novel.  It's great.  But it turns out that my 'introduction' is not really an introduction but a novelette (or short story) by itself; a prelude to the 'real' novel.  So I can't figure out how to resolve that (at least not immediately) so I go into another funk.

I'd like to collaborate; I think that would be great.  But I don't think I'm reliable enough.

BC, I got around all that crap (changing dog to three cats) by writing a children's book about one of the cats.

As soon as my illustrater picks a style (and meets the cats) we'll be picking a printer. I've narrowed it down to amazon or lulu

It's great to hear that you are actually at a point where the writing is done, and you are now dealing with how to get something printed.

Dude, you remind me of me.  A lot.  It's half that you're lazy; I'm pretty lazy.  But, well.  The other half is that I'm a pussy.  Now, I'm not calling you a pussy, I'm just saying that I'm a pussy and you act exactly the way I do in every particular.  Writing is scary, man.  People might read it and say mean things!  BUT WE MUST OVERCOME.  All you have to do to be a writer is write.
