Show off your Christmas loot!
« on: December 26, 2012, 06:05:06 PM »
Tell us what you've gotten for Christmas and make everyone jelly.

I got;
-A Yamaha keyboard with midi out
-A Simpsons season 3 and season 6 DVD set
-Pair of sweet Nike Airs
-Pack of 10 white T shirts (I needed these!)
-A couple of ultrasoft fleece sweaters
-Portable rechargeable speaker

Also bought myself an iphone 4S 2 weeks ago and ordered some really nice monitor headphones (sony MDR V6, Pictured, but its just a stock photo) that should be here in a couple of days.

So what did Santa bring you all?

chocolates
nice tea
biscuits
a really nice rob ryan cup
Parma ham
Whisky chocolates

The best thing was a happy little family.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I got some clothes, perfume and various tid-bits, but my lovely girlfriend went through the trouble of getting me a very, very geeky gift:

A Raspberry Pi, complete with case, Wi-Fi adapter, power supply, SD card, some IR-LEDs and an IR receiver. All of the above being compatible with the raspberry I got.

Awesomeness +1

I got a bunch of Scotch, tickets to The Book of Mormon, Hitman Absoultion, Assassin's Creed 3, tickets to a gospel version of Handel music, a book on the listing of the greatest Scotches (written by Michael Jackson, no not that one, the Beer guy), and a few Spanish wines and cheeses.
All right, I’ve been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man whose gonna burn your house down – with the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

My phat loot includes a new chess set (pics when it arrives, it had to be back-ordered!), Baldur's Gate Enhanced (PC game), two expansion packs for Death Angel (card game), blackberry honey, new Oregon State sweatshirt, mushroom motif playing card (spades = poisonous varieties, hearts = health, clubs = food, and diamonds = psychedelic, a really cool Arkham Horror board game (whose name I temporarily misremember), and pistachios.

Awesomeness.

Nice. Err, what do you plan on using it for?

Mansions of Madness?

'Cause I don't think it's "Arkham Horror" itself, since you mentioned that name in the post.

If I can include close-to-Christmas loot:

A Mac mini i7 (what I am currently writing this on: Mac OS X is considerably more user friendly than Ubuntu)
A new telly (32 inch Samsung LED - what I am reading this on)
An iPod nano (still getting used to the touchscreen)

Where did the perennially skint Xerxes get the valuta for all this? Well, the Benefit Tribunal decided in my favour, and the Government had to pay the difference between what they were paying me and what they should have been paying me for the over a year it took for the tribunal to hear my case. The appeal paperwork was Xerxes vs. Secretary of State (Iain Duncan Smith, a total cockwomble)
 and I won. Yay me!

Admittedly I gave a bit to charity, and rather more to my parents.
I am thinking of changing my title to "He who must only be mentioned in passing".

"Elder Sign" which was described to me just like Arkham Horror except easier, faster, funner, better.

I've seen that one. How is it?

Haven't had a chance to do anything but read the rules so far... :(

I've finally spent the last of my steam money... I damn love those sales.
The sun beyond the mountain glows
The yellow river seaward flows
You can enjoy a grander sight
By climbing to a greater height

I have run out of places to climb. I will abandon this body and take to the air. We will leave twin vapor trails in the air, white lines etched into these rocks. I am the aerial. In my passing, I will send news to each and every star.

Mrs Brown says: 'Hapiness is an effect, not a goal.'

Charlie is yelling @barit0wned
PC: A spider laid eggs inside my body and I need to get them out before they hatch
DM: You'll need the spider's permission first...
