I'll be off the grid for a week or so on account of a wedding and honeymoon.
Not that you'll really notice since I tend to lurk after hours anyway.  That damn courteous part of my head has stubbornly refused to succumb to alcohol poisoning though.  It's like ivy, I tells ya!

We're off to Marysville for the week.   Went there years ago before the bushfires just about wiped out the town.  Have been wanting to get back and see it ever since the survivors rebuilt there.  This is as good a time as any.  Kind of inspiring to start our new life by visiting a town that even the worst bushfire in Australia's recorded history couldn't kill.

There's a sculpture garden there that is amazing.  The artist survived but lost his studio and the garden.  Some of the sculptures survived, grinning out from burnt out trees.  A lot were lost.  He's rebuilt though and is always adding new pieces to the garden.  I'm really looking forward to sharing the place with my wife.

So, it turns out I'm luckier than I thought (and I already thought I was pretty damn lucky)

Just found out her parents have been putting money aside toward a house for her (they'd paid out the mortgages of their two sons previously) which looks like it'll cover half the cost of the local average.  Significantly reduces the size of the loan we'd need to buy a place.

I'm starting to dread the enormity of the bad luck that'll be coming to balance this out.  But then, I do enjoy a challenge.
