This one's a urban legend so I don't know how much is true but...

A man had a collection of exotic insects. One day a earthquake happened and the creatures came loose. While cleaning up the mess he was stung by one of the insects with a paralyzing agent. He fell and couldn't get up due to the injury and being paralyzed.

So he sat there with hungry insects all around him taking tiny tiny bites until he was eaten alive by spiders, centipedes, scorpions and other assorted critters.

So unable to move and being eaten alive would be worse to me.
