Nice, good to see a recruit with a baret that actually sits correctly  :surprised:

Spent the morning at Wal-Mart with Spider-Man.

Sweetest moment was seeing someone hug Spider-Man (actually several times) and hearing one kid go: "Because of you Spidey... I'll never do drugs."

=)

Sounds like something out of a After School Special but he really said that. =)

Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?
Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

Night Owl: Oh, indeed. I quit many a job ...better than being fired. You can keep your card... in fact, you get double points for quitting!

"Because of you Spidey... I'll never do drugs."

Well, when Spidey's experiments with drugs made him grow four more arms (and get bitch-slapped by vampires), I was convinced never to try them either!

FREAKIN COMCAST!

No internet or cable TV since Saturday morning because the lady upstairs moved out and they cut off MY cable. Repair tech came here and set it back up for me. STUPID COMCAST!

If it's any consolation, all cable companies are dicks.

Charter forced me to upgrade to digital cable and in the process broke one of the coaxial connectors and we lost internet for three days.

When I was in high school my parents were happy when we lost our internet access because my brother and I stopped spending time on the computer.
But then my mom went nuts when she couldn't check the weather or news when she wanted to, since we didn't have cable or satellite at the time.

Midterms are over and the Canadian dollar still stands pretty high.

With the influx of free time, I've started down what might be a self-destructive spiral of ebay bidding. A shopping trip to Buffalo might also be in order within the next couple of weeks.

Welcome to the fold, Haze!

You Infantry, right?
Oh and for those who don't know, I am the guy with the Brown skin :D

This was from MOUT on Shugart Gordon, Ft. Polk.  Not the best duty station but the shoot house and MOUT site are excellent!

And this is some down time... After all, a soldier isn't a machine

Yeah, 11B. I finish OSUT on Dec. 12, then I've got some downtime before I've got to come back to Benning for Airborne.

Airborne!

You realize, of course, you actually have to jump OUT of those planes!

Got a place in Vegas. Glee! =)

The place is friggin awesome. Instead of typing it all, I'll just cut and paste from the BF's e-mail. (Loveshack? I assume you got a e-mail from him?) Edit: He's mostly talking about the deli place and how much our current place is horrible. Scratch that. I'll just type myself.

It's awesome. There's a Krav Maga place ONE MILE AWAY! GLEEEEEE!!!

We're getting about 450 more square feet for $225.00 less. A Washer and Dryer in the unit (We have none now). A fireplace, outside storage unit, Vaulted ceilings, 2 bathrooms. It's friggin awesome. There's STORAGE PLACES EVERYWHERE! I have room for all the towels and stuff. There's a patio. There's a workout center. There's a pool. There's a WALK IN CLOSET!!!!

The Kitchen is so roomy! *dies*

There's so many different things around there. Here is Old Town, it's just Mexican Food restaurants and old buildings. There's little variety. Also some of the things here are far enough away where walking isn't really a option. Over there the stores are close by and I can run and get fresh items for a meal. AND... Gas is cheaper there and there's no State Income Tax. =)

We're about 15 minutes from the strip and that's fine with me. Someone said our area is 'boring' and that's where souls go to die. eg. It's too suburban. That's fine with me. I can drive to the excitement and not have to worry about meth addicts eyeing our car. Last thing I want to do is be around Needles The lovable heroin Addict who makes live exciting.

----------

I almost went to the Star Trek Open Call but I had to work and my Mom was coming over. He went though. =)

Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?

finally made it to london and it all got terribly terribly stressful tho my last weekend in glasgow turned out quite well.

went to see foo fighters with Nic at the SECC and it was fucking awesome.. there is no other way to describe it

but i've moved and my flat is absolutely beautiful, i've got my interview on thursday at 10am and i'm getting briefed tomorrow so hopefully it'll all go well.

my laptop has broken tho and i've lost the charger for my phone so went on a wee trek to find a charger today but found out the closest carphone warehouse is about 45 mins away by bus.  at least it'll give me something to do tomorrow

hopefully it'll all come good on thursday, fingers crossed
