This seems to fit the season *nods*

Saw a story about this on Inside the NFL on HBO a couple of days ago. Thought I'd share it as it's uplifting and certainly fits of the spirit of Christmas.

" Giants great goes on long walk for 9/11 heroes

With the same passion he played with as a New York Giant, George Martin plans to tackle a walk across America to raise money and awareness for the ailing heroes of 9/11.

On Sept. 16, the former captain of the Giants' 1986 Super Bowl-winning squad will begin A Journey for 9/11 from the George Washington Bridge.

"We're going from the George Washington Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge," Martin, 54, told the Daily News yesterday. He hopes to raise $10 million to pay for medical treatment for 9/11 first responders, and rescue and recovery workers suffering from chronic lung ailments. Nearly 70% of those who responded to the smoldering Pile have since developed lung problems, according to a study by Mount Sinai Medical Center."

I'm a Marketing Person so I ask...

If it's a 9/11 theme event why not start it on Sept. 11 instead of Sept. 16? It's just 5 days difference.
Will I get Night Owl points for quitting but not as much for getting fired?
Will I still be a member of the Owl's Pals? I'd hate to turn in my card. It's got a real owl feather under the lamination and everything.

Night Owl: Oh, indeed. I quit many a job ...better than being fired. You can keep your card... in fact, you get double points for quitting!
