Wow!

More important the job, the more active must the mind be, more perfect must the focus on the task be, so it would succeed.
Club 7 quickens your thoughts, it enhances, it helps to concentrate, so it is an unsurpassed aid at work. It gives the smoker just the refreshing buzz that he/she needs at the job as well as relaxation.

Those were the days.

Heh, thanks, I had quite a bit of trouble translating that with my poor skills.

Could you explain a bit more about "Mitä tärkeämpi tehtävä".  I 'know' all the words but they didn't make much sense to me, so I was thinking perhaps it was idiomatic, or a different use of the word 'mitä' then I was used to (or something else).

Kiitos!

You're quite welcome.

I kinda got stuck trying to come up with an explanation. It seems that my language skills in both english and finnish have started to fuck each other - in a non-sexual way - over the years, so now I easily begin to use english way of writing stuff in finnish and only have hunches about the actual proper way to say stuff in english.

Some of the finnish translations of books seem to fall into this finglish trap as well. You can understand what is being said, of course, but the expressions sound just a little bit...retarded.

Anyway, the text sounds very...archaic. It sounds like some newsreel or a...commercial from the 1930's quite frankly. :)

Occasionally the word mitä doesn't actually mean what, but can be used in a sort of statement fashion, like the "more important the work, the more active...blah" etc. I'm trying to think whether there are other ways to use it, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do at 2 am.

Actually, that explains it perfectly.  Thanks.

* Xerxes resists the urge to post the "She gets the blokes because she SMOKES* Viz poster.
I am thinking of changing my title to "He who must only be mentioned in passing".

The quality of Miss Finlands has definitely gone down since then...
The sun beyond the mountain glows
The yellow river seaward flows
You can enjoy a grander sight
By climbing to a greater height

I have run out of places to climb. I will abandon this body and take to the air. We will leave twin vapor trails in the air, white lines etched into these rocks. I am the aerial. In my passing, I will send news to each and every star.

Mrs Brown says: 'Hapiness is an effect, not a goal.'

Charlie is yelling @barit0wned
PC: A spider laid eggs inside my body and I need to get them out before they hatch
DM: You'll need the spider's permission first...
