Never did finish FO1. I got bored and started playing FO2 instead.

I was a little insulted that it uses the same game engine including a lot of the same artwork. Seriously, what is a "blades" sign from FO1 doing in this game? And that most of the character graphics are the same is lazy on their part.

I have noticed some improvements though. Its just strange that this feels like almost the same game.

Also: I did not have any random encounter problems in FO1, but its awful in this game. The encounter rate is at least 4 times as high.  I can't get back from Modoc to the Den without running into 8 or 9 bandit raids so I get slaughtered every time. Definitely looking for a way to correct this.

To be fair Fallout: New Vegas uses a lot of stuff from Fallout 3 (Although that was more of a spin off than a direct sequal) and I agree wholy on the encounter thing I had to reload my last save several times cause my companions kept dieing.

I just love how a random critical from a rocket toting super-mutant can wipe out your entire fully healed party in one-shot.

The whole "one-shot" death thing was something I was happy to see disappear in single-person games. A well-designed game shouldn't have you die to stupid luck of the draw.
All right, I’ve been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man whose gonna burn your house down – with the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

I remember spending many nights howling at the moon when some Nightkin with a laser rifle sliced me in 2 at full health... I'm glad those rifles aren't as powerful now.

Yep, everything is fading.
Slicing a man in two equal parts used to be my favorited times. Ever.
But walking into the desert, watching the stars and hearing craks noises of rusted/exploded cars is much more fun, tho.

Wait, apparently, it was radio songs, and not cracks noises ...
Ah ah, country music.

('laughting about country music, it's fits perfectly in that context.)

Fallout 3 is the best in the series. Sorry guys.

FO2+! are fun though. Maybe a little dated.

Picking my favourite Fallout game is almost like a dad picking his favourite kid (except it's harder for me to pick my favourite game).

I have most fun with FO:NV but my most fond memories are of the original fallout and the awe that I felt when I played the demo, I've never been so excited about a game release since.
