Well, in the past few weeks my job has been a clusterfuck of reorganization.... but hey, its over now! And I still have a job. Its amazing how a store rebranding, mass exodus of workers AND several firing happened all at once!

However for once after the inital cluster things are looking up, I'm actually able to take time off and get noted for doing my damn job.

I've also neally gotten around to getting my reloading kit put together, which is nice, and if I can get that figured out (and keep materials in stock) I think I may finally be able to potenially get started IDPA shooting or perhaps some other local competion shooting since in theory I can actually do so and afford it.

Also my brother and I have been working on our brewing, and he has a friend who is interested in perhaps working on a small commercial brewery/bar with us, so that could be cool!

Anything interesting going on in your lives?

Why does it sound dismal? I still miss that swamp, great fishing, and it was fun exploring. A lot of stuff you would never see anywhere else. I've seen cypress trees so wide that you couldnt have had six people hold hands around it, and in places so far in that it is deathy silent...something I still miss to this day.

My family Never would have left had the storms not ruined everything. Twice. I still go and see the place where our home was every few years. Its been all but reclaimed now, but its nice to remember :)

Material wealth is worth exactly what you and everyone else decides its worth. Your dollar could buy you a cup of coffee tommorrow morning(unlikely these days, but you know what I mean) or it could be completely worthless.

As it is most people don't even use cash anymore, so if you think about it, most "money" is simply ones, zeroes, and happy thoughts anyway... I don't have much really and try to stay away from any debt I can. I don't even have a credit card, nor will I ever do so if I can help it.but what little I do have to be proud of is mine and atleast it has value to me. Ill never be a rich man, but I have family, friends and I'm alive. I'm doing better then many even if I'm doing "worse" then "most".

I don't think bacon oreos would have a shelf life. A half-life maybe, but not a shelf life

Candied bacon is good, dunno about chocolate covered bacon though. Just as long as we don't end up in a world where bacon flavored oreos exist I think ill be alright.

It should be a law that all bacon bits be real. Anything else is a war crime!

I think KmD is simply stating a simple truth: no one likes losing the advantage.
Its a pefectly human reaction.

Although honestly I think most of the "advantages" most of us seem to have (or not have for that matter) are mercurial at best and non existent at worst.

I remember reading a poll somewhere that 2/3-3/4 of Americants think they are "middle class"!
And that's utter lunacy. But it makes a great political weapon when you can say "HEY! So and so is going to take away something that helps YOU!" EVEN WHEN IT IS MEANINGLESS.
All you have to do is convince people to divide themselves into meaningless groups and then point fingers. Class warfare anyone?
