"I decided to confess because they'd caught me"

I love that quote. I read it like this: "Yeah... I decided to be honest about the money I stole since they found the money under my mattress, I dropped my driver's license at the bank, and the dye pack blew up in my face."

- The Blueman Robber

I like this one:

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Octopus is somewhat cheap here.

Yes, I'm eating Octopus for dinner tonight. =)

Doombot sighting, more weeks of snow?

Maybe... there's snow in the mountains of Vegas right now. And it's in the 80's down here in the Valley.

Potatoes, Beans, Rice, and Pasta are usually cheap. Chicken tends to fill you up and it's not that bad.

Make large servings in a crock pot and then freeze what you don't eat. Then 2 months later... there's gumbo (No, not Gumby) waiting for you to microwave.

Built a treadmill desk. That's pretty cool. I can walk slowly and surf the net at the same time.

Have you tried launching a plane off of it yet?

Nah. I don't want it to crash into the wall... or would it?

Dun dun dun...

I'm not entirely sure I want various people in my Facebook friends who aren't part of the UV social circle being able to read my prosaic essays on who was the superior Doctor Who sidekick or following my posted link to homoerotic Transformers fan-fiction that I really only intended to share with the UV for shock value.  My pastor and grandparents may not fully understand or appreciate the context.

That's part of the reason I don't want Facebook to replace the village. There's stuff I can post her that I can't or choose to post on Facebook.

Here everyone loves my Peter Pan Man photoshops and takes great delight in seeing what I'll come up next. Yet the 40 year old Mothers, old co-workers, might not feel the same.

We got one. It works very well considering we don't have ideal conditions.

Semi-dim light and non ideal placement. eg. Can't place it on the TV as that's too close. Can't put it on the wall where we want since we have a painting there. So it's above the painting and looking down at a angle. Still it works fine.

What's going on?

Really not much. Compared to the "excitement" of previous years with accidents, deaths, and the "joy" of buying a house the recent months have been very quiet. Quiet is alright for now.

I work from home so I get up 30 minutes before I start work and watch Babylon 5 during my lunch breaks. Entertain the various people that come to Vegas and that's about it. Then do whatever strikes my fancy in the evening. See a Vegas show or drive to some hangout in Vegas.

A bit boring but nothing tragic like previous years so that's good.

Lawsuit is still chugging away. All I can say is the court date is next year.

Built a treadmill desk. That's pretty cool. I can walk slowly and surf the net at the same time.

Exactly the path i chose. Public defenders are a waste of time so i found a good attorney who cut me a deal so now i'm all lawyered up.

Touche Blue, as a common rule of thumb on the internet i respect that.  Though i do have pictures.

EDIT: Damn, i forgot to fully resize those.  And yea, shes great.  Picked my dumb ass up from drunk tank at 5 in the morning.

Get kinda reminds me of Summer Glau.

Yeah, I don't really know what to do either.

Night Owl pretty much answered it a while back. Back in the 90's the Unwashed Village was a sort of gathering place. A place where people could post interesting things and talk about it. Now it's just one of many places.

If I want to read what's new I go to Reddit or any other number of sites. Right there that takes care of some of the coolness.

Now it's just a bunch of people that know each other. That's awesome but there's no incentive for new people to join.

I guess just post more. =)
