Finaly got the game running and it looks great on DX 10.

Uhm.. DirectX10 isn't out, is it?

Anyway, I think I will cancel the Xbox version of it, and get the PC version instead. The controls simply don't work, and I want to try out my new PC anyway :D

I don't think this one is *that* scary, but those fast moving rippers(or what were they called again?) are pretty creepy. It's still nothing compared to Clive Barker's Undying. That entire game was like the Hotel Basement from Vampire: Bloodlines.

So I downloaded the Xbox360 version, seeing as I can't wait for the actual shipping. (Usually takes a week to get here from play.com)

So far, it seems decent. Very cool (and a bit falloutish) atmosphere, and very tense mood. Definitely not the kind of game my girlfriend would like (she refuses to watch or play anything even remotely scary). I'm still not handing out any game of the year badges, but it seems like it might be a good game.

*shrug* It infuriates me to the point of almost making my hand form a fist..

They blame piracy for forcing them to do stuff like this, yet all it does it create more piracy, which will force them to make even dumber anti-piracy measures. Eventually, they'll ship a game where they've just stabbed the DVD randomly with a screwdriver.

Christ, Bioshock has one of the dumbest freakin' copy protections ever. This is even worse than Sony DVD's.

Let's see:

Pirated Copy: Works, no activation
Legally bought copy: You have to install shitty spyware (securom) on your PC, and you have to remember to uninstall the game before you upgrade your computer. Otherwise, you'll have to beg for activation again / buy game again.

And what does the copy protection do? Jack shit. We all know that it'll be exactly 1 week until the first crack is out.

Stupid developers.

God, I hope he means the chick. Otherwise, I quit.

We actually did the Village People thing several times IIRC. Personally, I don't mind the boyband ones, seeing as I'm currently in a boyband. "5 new blue boys out of sync in the backstreet zone". We're gonna be HUGE!

My personal opinion on this topic is that violence in video games is what will cause the monkeys to destroy the Statue of Liberty.

My other opinion is that who cares? It was made by the French anyway.

After contemplating which version to get, I think I will buy the console version, and then possibly download the PC version. No way in hell I'm paying for both, and rumor has it that you can only activate your PC version twice (which I think and hope is a lie) before having to buy it again if you want to keep playing.

I had never heard of it before, but it looks pretty cool!

I can't seem to find any proper picture either. I think the easiest way is to get a Samuel Adams bottle, a camera with a macro function and just take a picture of it. Chucara can do that for you - just send him the beer bottle (should not be opened, or it wouldn't get through customs), and I'm sure he can make a script that can take the image and send it to you.

Oh, and you should probably send at least a six pack, in case the first one fails, or is damaged during shipping. *nods*

That is just stupid. It's taking figures entirely out of context and using them to make a point. That being said, food production is one of those areas that could use a revamp of their energy consumptions. But they're completely forgetting that the grass that feeds the cows absorbs CO2 as it grows.

It's like that idiotic episodes of MythBusters where they "bust" the "myth" of using used cooking oil in a diesel car. First of all, they conclude that they get roughly the same mileage from the oil, yet they bust the myth because the engine wouldn't last as long. (Makes you wonder if there was any result that would make them accept the myth).

But here, they completely ignore the fact that using plant oil as fuel is CO2 neutral to the environment. The CO2 created during combustion was absorbed as the plants grew. Fossile fuels release CO2 that was originally sealed in the ground.
