Unwashed Village / Re: Fallout 76 Poem
« on: January 23, 2019, 06:29:04 AM »
I truly wish i could see another game like New Vegas. But that is likely to happen when hell freezes over...

That said ive enjoyed 76 for what it is. When it works. If it works. It takes Bethesda's patented "glitches as a FEATURE!?!" system and doubles down. And then removes alot of the stuff that makes Fallout, Fallout.

But be goddamned if having a running gun battle with a giant mutant bat-dragon in a horrible mire, with a .50 cal Browning in a suit of power armor I had to scrounge and fight for while having to keep track of ammo, food, and water isnt a blast. When it works.

Hopefully things are a lot more stable now.
Sorry to hear about your Father. It seems you're never 'old enough' to be able to take losing a parent, it changes you.

Your shop sounds like an odd place, I guess it's almost like a post apocalyptic general store, like Chet's?

No, not quite post apocalypse,  just a small town place that basically is a relic.

It some how seems appropriate.

Sorry to hear of your Cat Kmd.... ive got a cat that I worry is coming close to the end of her life as she is OLD and no one knows exactly how old... was literally  found on a door step in the rain. Seems like yesterday but was coming up on a decade ago.

As for cars.....

Dont feel bad, the newest vehicle  ive ever owned is the 97 Chevy Blazer I drive these days lol....

I don't  drink a terrible amount, but these days Im likely to grab a good, dark beer. Or a Barley wine... Weybacher's Insanity  or an Old Rasputin is hard to beat.

And if im looking for something a bit more punchy, ill reach for some Bourbon. Or Scotch. Lately ive found I like dark spiced rum on occasion.

But i typically drink infrequently.

Things are getting better, fortunately. Just  sometimes it seems to take a while to get there.

Hello.... been a long, long time again.

Its been a rough few years  ( jesus its odd to realize....that its been years.) Since I last poped by.

My Father died three years back from cancer. Ive moved several times. Finally left a job id been at for 12+ years that id once enjoyed that had become poison. Ended up landing not far from where id grown up. I work at a honest to goodness General Store these days, with hardware and feed and horse tack and all that silly "obsolete" stuff. I miss you all.... I miss this place.

I guess what im saying is Hello... to whomever is still here.

Entitled is watching people come into your place of work and buying 30 dollars of candy, soda and icecream on food stamps, then whining about how much they have to pay for cigs because we " charge to much "... I've yet to see anyone buy actual food with food stamps here. Have had some try and use it on beer and "wraps" though....

Thats really all I have to say about that :(  it makes me sad.

What will the world be like when (if?) I'm 48? Thats a helluva thought...

Id imagine electric/fuel cell based cars will be the norm, and if any internal combustion cars are left, it will either be for special applications or as luxury antiques

"Smart" guns will be common, if not required by law, with all intended and unintended consequences that brings. If power systems keep getting better I wouldn't be suprised if directed energy and magnetic drivers become viable as handheld weapons (ATFL Anyone?)

People will be less free then now (its always been this way, but comparing now to the year 2034, it will be obvious to those who lived before) and it will be because people let it happen. Either because it was in the name of making life easier, or safer, or just "better"

General technology will continue to both astound and dissapoint me. 20 years ago our daily lives would have practically a sci-fi movie set, but look at what we've done with it.

Keep plugging away Hanged Man, and good luck.... its hard sometimes to go and do your own thing, and I respect that.

I've always loved the baluders gate games, I REALLY need to get these remastered versions ( and get my damn computer set right so I can enjoy them ) I'm hoping they redo Planescape this way because that's one of my all time favorites right there!

Independant vegas all the way, played it favoring ncr when I had to choose sides, and I felt somewhat bad for House as he had reasons for what he was doing but he deserved what he got in a lot of ways, but in the end?

A free mojave was what I wanted, esspecially after wandering around and letting it all soak in.

I enjoyed 3, for what it was. But new vegas was the REAL Fallout 3 to me. The add ons were enjoyable aswell (the Survialist's story in honest hearts? Fucking awesome, all the better that it was all hidden within the story going on at the time). I still pop New Vegas in and play from time to time...

I genuinely am looking foreward to Fallout 4, but I sincerely hope they take a lot from New Vegas.
