will it unlock the secrets of stonehenge?
« on: September 10, 2008, 02:55:33 PM »
did ya all see the Google logo today? pretty.

it reminds me (in a train of thought) of that show on TV - the big bang theory. I like it, cute TV show. love the theme song to it as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGT71Zv2tGU

found that while trying to find you the theme song. :D  it's a BNL song.  I suppose ya'll can look it up yourself.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aym8_S3BXKw

anyway, science is cool.  even if ya know next to nothing about it (like myself)

Oh, there is a cut and paste of part of an article.....made me smile. :D

"By using a remarkable instrument called the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), not only the most powerful particle collider but the biggest scientific instrument in the world. It's 27km long and in a location to make a Bond villain weep with envy, far below ground on the Franco-Swiss border."

Oh, and of course the gal who said 'will it unlock the secrets of stonehenge, also made me smile.

lol

"Sorry about sounding so close-minded, but y'know all day I've been trying to reasure myself that its all gonna be okay and nothing bads gonna happen, and then every one I've talked to has been a nervous reck and talking about the world ending, now I've been trying to blot out this all day and have had several nervous breakdowns, looking for reasurance..."

Oh my goodness. This guy is serious, I think.

Everyone he's talked to? He must know a lot of crazy, paranoid people who have no lives and not much else to think about.  Out of the 4 people I've talked to in person today, only 1 even knew what this hadron collider was, and even then didn't care much.

Bah. I've been colliding hadrons for years and I'm only partly discombobulated.

This is BC we're talking about here... What makes you think it's not deliberate?  That would have been my first assumption.
