I haven't really liked the majority of his humor since he became so extremely bitter and angry but I can recite some of his older stuff from heart. I wish he could have found some sort of peace and happiness before he passed. :(
From Toledo Window Box which was one of my first comedy tapes -
"Here are words that no one has ever said before...
Please saw my legs off
Hand me that piano
Do what you want to the girl but leave me alone!"

I always felt he'd be one of the great philosophers of our time. The kind that get continue to be quoted in 2106 and beyond.
Edit: I was just reminded that he was supposed to come out to the New Orleans casino in a few months.

I actually got to see him in concert when I was 15 or so. He, Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy were the comics I listed to a lot growing up.

I'd like to say that the world is going to be less cynical without him, but I think he left a pretty good legacy of bitter comics behind.
Dude made his mark, and he died with his boots on, like a good Irishman.
I'll just pretend his time as a conductor to talking trains never happened and raise a glass of whiskey to him when I get home.

I was never a fan of his more cynical stuff either, but some of his jokes made me laugh. Now comes the big question though; where does an atheist go?

He's a Frisbeetarian.

In his own words, "his soul gets flung onto a roof, and just stays there"
