What I find more impressive than anything is the fact that you were able to come up with 100. Moreso, that it doesn't really seem like you had to stretch that far to fill the list.

There are a few things on the list (10, 14, 40, 61) that I struggle with though. I think mostly because they're catered towards acting a certain way to get something you want (or think you want), but I believe trying to behave in a way that you're not designed to will only result in exhaustion.

I find the fact that 23 and 24 follow eachother to be slightly ironic.

11 is intriguing. I'd like to hear a little more about that. Are you saying to stereotype as a sort of weeding-out process. Like look for a few main characteristics that you know you'll get along with and learn the rest as things progress?

96 is one that I'm just now learning is sort of a theme for most of us in our early 20's. We're all about to decide what we're going to do for the rest of our lives and scared as hell that we're going to do it wrong. Being passionate about something definitely seems like one of the most important things in life.

Yep, I just wrote them off the top of my head. Probably about half came from other sources over time and half were my own observations.

*About #11*
I'm very interested in sociology and group dynamics. While stereotyping is generally looked down upon, it can be an invaluable tool for meeting new people you know nothing about, because simple stereotypes tend to be right more often than people want to admit.

Example: If I meet an average looking black man, I might assume a couple of things: 1. He likes basketball 2. Hes not an only child. It gives me an idea of what to bring up, and even if i'm totally wrong at least i'm trying to learn more about him.

Same goes for girls. If I meet a slender looking girl I could assume a couple of (harmless) things: 1. She has an interest in sports 2. Shes not really into geeky stuff 3. If shes good looking she probably has a boyfriend

If you get really good, you can guess aspects of people's lives without them even telling you. I've done it many times and some people get freaked out. But its mostly for networking with new people.

Definitely not for "Weeding out", that actually sounds like a bad thing. It helps you know who you might be compatible with, but people are very surprising.

Also definetly agree with you about #96. Having a passion is what prevents that daily grind.

Hmmm....*reads list*

2. I don't think you could be any more wrong.

32. You're not wrong, but it's harder to pull that off in real life than most people would think, especially in group settings. Still, though, I pretty much agree. You're just torturing yourself if you're spending any significant portion of time with a girl who you want but have on chance with.

34. I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Do you mean jokingly, as in learn how to be able to joke around with your friends so as not to appear (or maybe even actually *be*) homophobic?

40. Try to lead if you think you're the best person to do so. You don't have to *always* be the leader. If anything, that could cause as many or more social problems than the opposite.

41. It's true, I wish I weren't so stigmatized. I don't really know how to cry, even though I wish I could sometimes just to get it out, ya know? When I had to put my last dog down, I asked my parents for a moment alone with him after it was done. I cried my eyes out for about 90 seconds, but then stuffed it all back inside to be strong for my mom, telling myself I'd let it out when I got home. By the time I got home, however, it was bottled up and I just....couldn't cry. I should have just let it out then when I ahd the chance as I can't make myself cry

44. Again, I'm not disagreeing, but if you're going to use that logic, I don't see why it wouldn't apply to movies as well. Games, sure, mostly because there are many developers who cannot continue to produce content without retail support. Movies, though? The movie industry isn't going anywhere. You could just as easily say that "Paying for a movie you haven't seen yet is for chumps"

53. Wal-Mart is overly vilified in north america

58. never really noticed that, so I can't really agree or disagree

59. Disagree strongly. There is only a tiny percentage of atheists who are outright trolls. Just avoid the atheists who crusade against religion every chance they get

60. Situational. Sometimes it happens immediately (sidenote, this forum seems to think situational isn't a word. Odd)

61. That really depends on the image you want to project to others. I personally agree with it *somewhat* but it doesn't apply to everybody

64. Heh, too true. Wait, no, not too true. Just true enough. Ideal level of truth.

72. You should really visit the dentist more frequently than that. You should really shoot for two cleanings a year. Also, eh, I'm not a big believer in chiropracty. (chiropractice?) I have several friends who believe in it strongly, but it seems the more often you do it, the more often you need it.

78. Assuming she's lying if she says you're perfect or that she's not attracted to any other men? Check. Sure.  Assuming she's lying about orgasms? Why assume they're lying? Sure, they could be, but why assume? It would seem to me that by assuming she's faking them all, you're only going to give yourself a complex.

83. In terms of sales, sure. If the product is shitty, though, it doesn't really matter that the commercial made you laugh.

98. That really depends on what it is

99. I disagree. Reduce? Of course.  Reuse? Whenever you can. Recycle? Recycling most things is a waste. We expend valuable and scarce resources (oil, mostly, from the thousands and thousands of extra trucks used to pick it up, and the oil used in the actual recycling process) to recycle things we have in abundance and will likely never run out of. The only resource efficient form of common household recycling comes from recycling cans. Recycling glass, paper and plastic consumes more resources than it saves.

Still not a bad list, though. A lot of very true things.

Also, you forgot to do 68 and 76, so it's only 98 advice notes

Wal-mart IS pretty evil.... But where else Am I to go when I need to buy several boxes of 12ga buckshot, fruit snacks, motor oil and soda all at the same place at 9:30 at night?    :embarassed:

That recipe sounds vaguely familiar...
