First of all... this here is probably a good idea... this thread i mean.
I say this not just because it could provide genuinely revitalising ideas but also because frankly, I just skimmed the last few pages of posts, and it was downright depressing.
True enough, that may be because Im still recovering from BC's "metaphor" prose
- But really, it felt like I was reading the death rattles of someone I love. I agree that the fun of the village was the humour and fiction... so why did I find it so heavily outweighed by the morose sobbing about days gone by?
Secondly, I dont think gimmicks work. A game, or a map, or what have you is great. But that's the kind of thing people should be doing as par for course, rather than using them in a concious effort to bring back a dead zeitgeist.
Yes. Dead... Zeitgeist. I dunno the average reading level of the current members, so I'll explain.
Zeitgeist is a word meaning the spirit of an age, and to paraphrase the Hagakure, it is not wise for one to wish they were in a different time, but rather to make the most of what (or when) they have.
So... with that being said, in the interest of getting people back in the hype...
I notice a distinct lack of turjans and lerks... I therefore offer my services as an illustrator to aid in whatever village-projects people decide are worthy of pusuing.
