Gief grenade launcher. GIEF!

Like my sergeant said: "If you combined our army with the American you'd get two armies. There'd be the shit one with less-than-adequate training and sub-par weapons and the one with extremely good training and the ebst weaponry available."

*sneaks into Caribs camp and runs off with the superior weapons*

On a sidenote, I really need to buy myself some better gloves than the crap ones they give us in the army. We either get wool muffs without fingers and thick (warm) leather gloves that are incredibly stupid as you can't control the trigger for shit with them.

For JRTC it was mandatory to wear the Nomex flight gloves, when I go Country (Iraq) in November, I can use my better Kevlar gloves... Again, its going to be scorching, so I need good sturdy gloves that breathe. Can't have it all, I suppose.

Yeah, I was thinking the flight gloves as well, a couple of our sergeants use them.

Kevlar? Hot or cold? And where do you get them, or are they suppleid to you by the military?

Yes and no... Though My Sergeant Encouraged me to buy my own. The Flight gloves (Nomex) were issued. I get my gloves either online or at our Military CLothings and Sales Annex, they usually have all the Authorized stuff.

My poor boyfriend. He's going on a quick trip to Texas (actually he's there now) and we were thinking about the dates to fly.

Me: Eh... one dates about as good as another. So we pick September 10th.

One day before the anniversary of 9/11. We didn't even think about that. The airport was at Orange Alert, there were people with rifles and his best friend from back home is flying to Vegas on the day he's arriving in Texas. When he leaves his friend will be flying back.

Had he left a week later he could have avoided the 9/11 (OMG this is when the terrorists will strike) and he could have seen his childhood friend by taking a quick trip to Vegas.

Got a couple questions for you:

1) Kevlar gloves- benefits/drawbacks vs. Noprex?

2) You guys use camelbacks? A few of us have ben considering the 1.5l one for all-day full-pack trecks and the likes.

3) what do you guys use for eye-protection? The standard issue shooting-glasses are utter shit and we'r looking for some durable goggle-types that are relatively scratch-resistant and cost less than $150 (welcome to DK, land of the retarded prices)

EYE PROTECTION
ESS ICE 2 is a good alternative to overpriced (but very sturdy Oakley's)... The Army got certain regulations on eye wear so not all the expensive stuff is worth it. I was issued Oakleys... I suggest you do research. You don't want shit that will fog on you easy. Most googles on a whole are ballistic approved, so ESS Land Ops, or ESS NVG are good choices and are under $50 USD.

GLOVES
-Kevlar gloves are all around good and Hatch has some relatively inexpesnive ones that have nomex in them, so they are sturdy and fire retardent. Plain Nomex gloves are just that, fire proof, but you may have a certain SOP (standard Operating procedure) which you have to follow. I go with the kevlar gloves, especially if you handle razor wire on a regular bases. Also Kevlar gloves are a tad more expensive, especially the real real good ones. You have to base it on your needs. Do research. Most of the time they mix both so you get the benefits and no real draw backs. Also the gloves are comfortable and smooth. The sniper in my Platoon cut the trigger finger off of his, but that was his preference, I notice little to no draw back with kevlar gloves.

CAMELBAKS
-Yes, we use camel baks... 1.5 liter to 3 litre types. I have three Camel baks. One the Army issued me, one I bought and another that came with my Talon Assault Pack... which is by the way a niffty assault pack for you light fighter Infantrymen.

So, by the looks of it, this term at uni was looking to be the easiest yet. But the powers that be of my faculty decided to schedule four of my midterms on consecutive nights in one week (usually, they were spread out over two weeks or so).

Additionally, my one elective course happens to have its midterm on that Monday, so I might get 5 nights of consecutive examage. With all my daily classes/labs still running.

That is going to be one fun week.

i'm debating if i want to be a dj on campus radio. there's a meeting tonight, if i miss it i wont be able to dj. if i go, what will i talk about? what music will i play? it'll be no use talking about tangerines, or anything that i'd really talk about because no one would listen to that. debating is no fun when it's with yourself.
In case of rapture, can I have your car?

I had a radio program once (with a buddy).  We were "Chip & Chat" and talked about geek stuff for a 1/2 hour once a week (this was about 15 years ago).  We had a great time with the (short-lived) show but it took an incredible amount of prep time (if you wanted to do a good job), and the pay was horrible.  The station's owner said "find your own sponsors!" and we just didn't have the time to do marketing/sales as well so we dumped it.

But it was fun.
