Title: stupid things you believed when you were younger?
Post by: AcdQueen89 on October 31, 2007, 08:53:43 PM
like my ra believed that only people with the same last name could get married. when you met someone that had your last name then you knew you could get married. (of course they couldnt be related to you)

while i'm thinking of the same question i thought i'd ask what you guys thought.

I thought there were portals to other worlds like in Land Of the Lost and various other stories.

I didn't want to find them because in most stories the people never got back or didn't get back for a long long time.

I also believe Santa was killed in Compton and later on killed by our the Air Force because he was flying from Russia. They thought he was a missile.

My Dad and Uncles were pretty twisted.

I can't help but laugh now. =)

ps. I didn't believe he died twice but that the first one was a lie.

I used to think that when cowboys were killed in the movies that they really died.  I kept wondering who would want to do that job.

A story my family still loves to tell about me is the time I told my Grandfather on the way to the zoo that panthers could fly. So he showed me the panthers at the zoo and said, "See they can't fly." I responded, "Well some do and some don't!"

Hard as that will be for some of you from the debate forum to believe.  ;D

I used to have like fifty stuffed animals. I'd line them all up in my bed so they were comfy and in the morning they'd be all over my room. I was convinced they had secret lives that only occurred when I was asleep (similar to what they showed about eight years later in the first toy story movie). So I'd lay out toys and stuff for them to use while I was asleep in case they got bored.

My mom was convinced we had a poltergeist.

I was 6 yrs. old when I thought that babies came from a womans bellybutton. My Mom overheard me and the neighbor girls talking and set me straight later on. When I told my friends where they really come from, they went home and told their Mom she lied. My Mom was in such hot water for telling me the truth. Back then, it was taboo to discuss such things with a small child. My kids were around the same age when I came upon a discussion like that. I went to the library and rented an educational video to show them. I was in the same hot water with my downstairs neighbor. It wasn't like I showed her kid, she thought it was disgusting that I would do that. I thought it was smarter to tell them in a more educational type of way, rather than tell them "you'll know when you're older" or the stork brings babies. ::)

i used to believe all planes went to Hong Kong and no where else.

I thought that a hole dug anywhere in the US (and maybe a little bit around) would lead to China. I also thought if I dropped something in Arkansas for example it would exit in China with a lot of velocity.

I see now, that I would have ended up in the Indian Ocean between Africa and Australia.
