(Also, I wish loveshack were here to read this)

That explains the chill that ran down my spine seven months ago.

Or simpler, restart.

Another option is to look at your security settings, do you have another permission you need to adjust

I tried the restart first, then cleared the cache, but it was no good.  Only uninstalling then reinstalling seemed to do the trick.  Something about the new Flash/Shockwave plugin, I guess...

Fixed by deleting entire history and uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.  That can't possibly be the simplest fix, but it got the job done.

Why does my Facebook look like this all of a sudden, and what do I need to delete or update to fix it?

Yes, Ragnar Bluetooth was his name! Scourge of the North he was!

Mongo go to heaven quite a while before this post.  :(

I dabbled with that, but I'm intimidated by scriptwriting.  I spent several hours looking for a script generator after I found it.

I used to be "with it", but then they changed what "it" was.  Now what I'm with isn't "it", and what is "it" seems new and scary to me.

So yeah, I really like playing DC Universe online, but there are certain combos that can only be achieved by pressing your right and left mouse buttons in elaborate sequences which have zero margin for error. The slightest deviation in the formula leads to me shooting impotently at the wall while Swamp Thing turns me into his swamp prison bride. Aside from that, it's also REALLY hard on the mouse buttons. What I'd like is to find some kind of program I could run in the background while I'm playing so that instead of "left click, right-click, hold right-click four times, hold left click, left click" I could just press "K" and have it execute that sequence of mouse clicks flawlessly every time. Does anybody know of a program that would let me do that?

Thanks for everybody's input, but sadly the root of the problem was nothing as grandiose as I would've liked.  I'm slowing down in my old age; I picked the wrong cartridges. MY printer, the Lexmark X2690, takes Lexmark 4 and 5 cartridges, whereas every other printer in the 2600 series takes 14 and 15. Due to the similar model numbers, and the fact that the cartridge cases on the $ and 5 are IDENTICAL to the cases on the 14th and 15, I made an old person mistake when buying my printer ink. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go play Nintendo Wii with my brother and sister and I'm going to use the retro style game pad to do it because I consider that to be superior to these newfangled Wii-chuck gizmos.

I don't really use the printing function that much though, that's what makes this so weird.

I've since thrown away the empties.  Besides, I'd like a solution to fix the problem if possible, not just work around it.

I have a Lexmark x2600 all-in-one printer (printer/scanner).  It's worked perfectly fine for the last couple years I've had it.  I had to replace the cartridges in it ONCE since I've owned it, and I went with Sophia Global knockoff cartridges, which worked fine.  It's now time to replace the cartridges, only THIS time, I'm using brand name cartridges.  The printer is telling me that these cartridges are incompatible with the printer.  When I put the empty cartridges back in the printer, it recognizes them just fine, but since they are empty, they aren't much use to me.  I can only assume that the knockoff cartridges had some kind of malware coded into them to rewrite the printer's firmware to only accept their brand of cartridges.  I've tried new brand name cartridges from a few different sources and I've gotten the same results, so it's not likely that I bought bad cartridges.  Any idea how to fix the problem?

Unwashed Village / A bisexual girl bit my ear last night.
« on: December 17, 2012, 06:51:58 AM »
OK, so I have a bisexual, platonic lady friend of many years who has never expressed any interest in me, and in fact has shot me down in the past.  Last night, I hung out with her and her girlfriend watching movies.  The girlfriend who was staying the night had already gone to bed, and I was saying my goodbyes to platonic lady friend. who hugged me and kissed me on the cheek like she's done many times before.  Then she bit/sucked my earlobe.  Now, if she was single and hadn't shot me down in the past, I'd know what this means.  If her girlfriend was also bisexual, and not an out-and-out lesbian, I'd know what this means, (not my kind of thing, BTW).  Since neither of those things are the case, I don't know what this means.  Does it mean anything?  Does it just mean she'd had too much to drink?

I have an archieve of two older boards backed up on my computer. My dream is to try to convert the data to the new version of the forum and merge it with this one, but that is not as easy as it sounds.

An alternate plan could be to install two more databases and run them alongside the new board as readonly.

I like this idea Chucara.  I doubt the archives, as old as they are, are likely to contain anything meriting further discussion, at least not enough things to warrant upgrading them to the new boards as fully interactive forums, but it would be nice to have them available as archives for the purposes of continuity and history.  If there's something in them that needs further discussion, a member could always copy paste the relevant bits to a new thread and/or link the archived thread.  At any rate, if you post them as read-only archives, you could always reserve the right to take on the more arduous task of converting them to fully interactive forums at a later date, but at least we would have them in some fashion.  I like seeing how we've progressed as a board and as individuals over the years, and I feel like losing our archives every time we upgrade not only robs us of that, but also robs us of any name-recognition and reputation we have built in the interwebs up to that point.
