I was really lucky with house hunting, we were looking at places that were close to derelict or in need of major major upgrades because they were all that was in our budget.  Then we stumbled upon a house at fixed orice the old lady was desperate to sell because of the upkeep, huge garden, three bedrooms and sound all within our megre budget.  Just keep hoping, you'll get the right place eventually.

Dooms! I found you a house! It's a little cozy, and a bit of a fixer-upper, but I think a guy who's fairly handy, and a woman's touch of course, could make it something you could live with (in). Best of all, I'm sure it's in your price range, (theoretically, it's in everyone's price range.)

Well that bank approved the appraisal. It appraised for 7K less than the going price. The house we originally wanted appraised for 11K less and the bank didn't like that. The deal went though and they raised the price by 20K.

THIS house seems to be going forward. I hope so. I'm so tired of looking for houses.

Edit. We might close on the 30th of this month. We were worried because we wanted to get the 8K tax credit but President Awesome extended it.

I hate updating this because what we know doesn't always seem to be reality.

However... we're further along than we've ever been.

We submitted our balance and as far as we know...

All that's needed is to get the underwriter to accept, do the final walk though, submit the final check and get the keys.

But we thought we were close before so who knows?

I have a 50/50 success ratio with the predictions so I can't give guesstimates on what'll happen.

Staying positive though.

After this is over... it's off to the Tiki Lounge to drink.

Holy Heck! It works!

We got a call from the loan officer and the Realtor. The loan's approved and the Realtor said we could pick up the keys next week! So both people gave us confirmation on separate calls.

They cashed the check / released the money. All that needs to happen is for the county to "record it".

Could we actually be done????

The realtor basically said yesterday.... "Ah... _____ it. It's done. Here's your key."

I'm a bird in the hand sort of girl. I'll wait to celebrate 100% when it's recorded.
