Okay, I know this is a tad obscure even amongst other geeks, but back in the mid-to-late 90s there was singer/media personality who went by the name Apollo Smile. She had a hit single on the
Days of Thunder soundtrack and hosted a show on the SciFi channel for a bit. Her schtick was that she was a live action anime girl, so her show would show some anime movie intercut with little bumper segments with her where she'd explain what was going on. Now, I was at least passingly familiar with her even though I'm not an anime fan, so I'm wondering what happened to her. It's like she just vanished and someone pulled some sort of Stalin-esque revisionist history on the internet because she used to have a huge presence online and now I just find fragments here and there and they're all very outdated along with the ubiquitous suicide/murder/dead rumors. (::shudder:: I just had a flashback of what the internet was like in the late 90s). Anyway, whatever happened to her?
While we're at it, whatever happened to Sophie Formica off of SciFi Buzz?
I'm waiting for Rott to bust out some photo and just casually drop that they're old schoolyard chums or something.
