Title: *nervously walks in*
Post by: Xerxes on October 16, 2011, 10:02:37 PM
Last time I was here I posted something silly and disgraced myself. Alcohol was involved, and in considerable quantity.

I fully admit that I ****** up.

Are you willing to forgive me?

Xerxes (who somehow can't resist coming back here).

No. Cthulu take it, I know precisely why - you guys were my friends through some very dark times and places. I am in a rather less dark place now (thanks to a psychologist and some very strong medicine) , and I would like to come back here.

What do you say?

Wow, it has been a long time.  I don't remember what you posted but as someone who used to wake up to find the forum on his screen and vague memories of saying something stupid I can sympathise.  Thankfully the village is a place full of old fogies who forget everything 10 seconds after it happened forgiving place so I really wouldn't worry.

Glad to see that you're happier with life now, how have you been?

I don't even remember the incident.

Welcome back, though!

*gets megaphone from the Xerxarium*

Well, I have sought (and got, thanks to an aunt who works in the NHS) treatment for my mental health problems. I'm seeing a psychologist, and my GP has finally found a combination of antidepressants and
tranquilizers that more-or-less work.

I reported the blighter at my boarding school who liked to rape little boys to the police . The CPS declined to prosecute him for that, but they did go to the magistrates court and get a sex offender prevention order meaning he will be watched very closely for the rest of his life, so at least he can't do it again, and he got a year in prison for the indecent images of children they found on his computer, which is some satisfaction at least (that he got caught, I mean). He got out a few months back.

Oh, and I'm stone-cold sober and as close to my right mind as I ever get. I only intend to mention the above once, but you guys need to know the facts if I'm to come back as a regular poster.

I have joined a roleplaying club (roleplaying in the tabletop, Dungeons and Dragons sense, not the you pretend to be Edwina Currie and I'll pretend to be John Major sense), and made some new friends. I'm running a Hackmaster campaign - next week I put the party against kobolds to rescue some lead for a painter.

I graduated - I got a 2:2 in Politics. I'm continuing my studies with the Open University - at least it shows I'm trying to do something useful with my time, rather than sitting back and watching *shudder* Jeremy Kyle. I'm currently struggling with the Department for Work and Pensions to get my benefits back - my doctor says I'm not yet fit for work, the DWP quacks say I am. I put in the appeal paperwork today *crosses fingers*.

*puts £500 behind the bar at the Bastard Bar so that all can drink to the abovementioned blighter's damnation in bumpers*

Glad to hear everything seems to be working out for you. You've been through some nasty business, so I'm happy for you.
